Over the weekend, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the Wimbledon Men's Singles final along with their two eldest children, Prince George, 11 and Princess Charlotte, 10.

The nail-biting event on Sunday saw Jannik Sinner take home the first-place trophy in the tournament, after triumphing over reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz.

And amongst he crowd were the royals, who watched the tense final unfold from the prestigious Royal Box. But many fans watching at home wondered why Prince Louis, seven, wasn't in attendance.

Despite his young age, Louis has already attended some pretty high profile events, including including the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022 and King Charles' coronation in May 2023.

In fact, he's often a favourite with royal fans thanks to his cheeky antics and hilarious facial expressions.

However, he is still younger than both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were when they made their public debuts at the prestigious sporting event.

Added to this, one little-known rule of the Royal Box is that children are generally not allowed to sit there.

The only exception to this is, of course, royal children, meaning George and Charlotte were well within their rights to enjoy the best view.

However, all things considered, many fans pointed out that the youngest prince is probably still a little too young to be able to sit through a tennis match.

And both Kate and William spoke about Louis' absence following the final, while they met with Sinner to congratulate him on the win.

Following the final, a clip from the official Wimbledon social media shows Kate, William, Charlotte and George chatting with Sinner after the match.

The tennis player even signed tennis balls for Charlotte and George, while Kate also asked if he could sign one for Prince Louis, too.

She could be heard saying: "We are taking one for their brother."

While William adds: "Louis will be upset otherwise."

People were quick to point out how they hope to see Louis at Wimbledon next year, with one writing: “Absolutely incredible to see our beautiful family today! Hopefully with Lou Lou next year! Such wonderful day and the Prince and Princess Of Wales were looking brilliant and stunning in blue!”

A second chimed in with: “Beautiful family. We missed Prince Louis though.”

Meanwhile, a third added: “Hope Louis will be there next year.”

And a fourth said: “Ok, but I wanna see Louis - king of all events.”
