Prince William gave an update on both his wife, Kate Middleton, and his father King Charles' respective cancer battles during a recent TV appearance.

The Prince of Wales, 43, features in today's (October 3rd) episode of Eugene Levy's Apple TV series, The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy.

He took the Canadian actor, 78, on a tour around the grounds of Windsor Castle, before the duo headed on a dog walk, and then to the local pub.

During their pub chat, the duo touched on some difficult topics, including his plans for becoming King and his family's ongoing health struggles.

For those not up to speed, Kate first revealed her diagnosis back in March 2024 when she began preventative chemotherapy.

In January, the princess shared she was 'in remission', which was a 'relief', adding that she would 'remain focussed on recovery'.

Meanwhile, in February of last year, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III had been diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer just weeks after he underwent a procedure for an enlarged prostate.

And now, after very few updates since, William has issued on update on both his wife and father, as he emotionally discussed the toll cancer has had on his family.

He, first of all, confirmed again that Kate's cancer is in remission, beaming that it's 'great news'.

And when it comes to the King, William added that things are 'good', as he told Levy: "Everything is progressing in the right way, which is all good news."

The royal went on to discuss how he and his three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, dealt with Kate's diagnosis.

He said: “When you suddenly realise that the rug can be pulled from underneath your feet quite quick at any point, you kind of think to yourself, 'Oh it won't happen to us, we’ll be okay'.

"Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you’ve got to be positive. But when it does happen to you then it takes you into some pretty not great places."

The future King continued: "Life is sent to test us as well, and it definitely can be challenging at times, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are. I’m so proud of my wife and my father for how they’ve handled all of last year. My children have managed brilliantly as well.”

William said that 2024 has been 'the hardest year he's ever had', as he he's tried to balance protecting his children and his wife.

He added: "It's important my family feel protected and have the space to process a lot of the stuff that’s gone on last year.

"And that was tricky to do that and keep doing the job. But you know, we all have challenges that come our way and it’s important to keep going."

Later speaking in particular about how the children handled it, he said: "Everyone has their own coping mechanisms for these sorts of things, and children are constantly learning and adapting.

"We try to make sure to give the the security and safety that they need, and we’re a very open family, so we talk about things that bother us and things that trouble us.

"But you never quite know the knock on effects it can have. It’s just important to be there for each other and kind of reassure the children that everything is okay.”
