A lip reader has claimed to reveal what Prince William said to footballer Chloe Kelly after the Lionesses won the 2025 Women’s Euros on Sunday (27 July).
England triumphed after a tense penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw against Spain at St Jakobs Park in Basel, Switzerland.
And watching from the stands was Prince William and his 10-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, while Prince George and Prince Louis remained at home with mum Kate Middleton.

The father-daughter duo seemed to be having a whale of a time as they watched on from the stands, with Charlotte pictured throwing her arms up in celebration as the Lionesses scored a second-half equaliser after Spain's 1-0 lead.
Another moment that had the nation on the edge of their seats when forward Chloe Kelly took the penalty that ended up winning the whole game for England.
The stadium erupted into cheers when the ball hit the net, making the team the first women’s team to defend their Euros win, after they defeated Germany at the last tournament, at London's Wembley Stadium three years ago.
Following the historic victory, William did his duties as patron of the Football Association, handing out medals to the winners, shaking their hands and even giving out some hugs as he congratulated them.
And one particular moment that’s garnered attention is when he spent time with Kelly, pointing and speaking dramatically following her winning goal.

After he pulled Kelly in for an embrace and shook her hand, he reportedly made it clear that her incredible shot was still on his mind.
According to The Mirror and professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman, William told the football star: "That kick was no nonsense, well done you, honestly, fantastic."
The lip reader has also weighed in on what the Prince of Wales allegedly said to new Lioness Michelle Agyemang, who was named young player of the tournament.
He reportedly told her: “Michelle, well done, honestly, you played a good tournament, you are so inspirational to Charlotte, well done."

And if that isn’t sweet enough, he also had words of praise for manager Sarina Wiegman, as she accomplished her second Euros win with the women’s national team.
William is thought to have said: “We get to do it again, well done, hey, amazing. Penalties to take it, eh?”
Some pretty high praise from a royal! And it didn’t stop there, as William also took to social media following the game to share another congratulatory message.

He wrote: “What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe, and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment, England. W & Charlotte.”
Meanwhile, King Charles III wrote: "For more years than I care to remember, England fans have sung that famous chant 'football's coming home.'
"As you return home with the trophy you won at Wembley three years ago, it is a source of great pride that, through sporting skill and awesome teamwork, the Lionesses have made those words ring true.”
He added: "For this, you have my whole family's warmest appreciation and admiration. Well done, Lionesses. The next task is to bring home the World Cup in 2027 if you possibly can."
