Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'professional separation' is seemingly well underway, with the former royals making quite the surprising move to fit their busy lifestyles.

Since the couple left the UK and relocated to the US in 2020 due to the pressures of the British press and tensions within the royal family, they seem to have made quite the lives for themselves and their two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, three.

Despite Prince Harry recently revealing that his children may never set foot in the UK following the loss of his appeal for taxpayer-funded security and that his father, King Charles III, no longer speaks to him, it seems as if he and Meghan are living the lives they always wanted.

They currently reside in Montecito in Santa Barbara, California, and have each taken on their own business ventures, including a shared Netflix docuseries, their charitable organisation Archewell, and Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever, which was followed by her own Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.

So, there's no doubt that Harry and Meghan are doing an incredible job of redefining themselves since stepping down from their senior royal roles over five years ago. Still, it seems as if they're now keen on taking their professional lives in different directions.

In late 2024, reports arose that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were embarking on a 'professional separation'.

Before anyone panics, this doesn't mean they're actually separating—it simply means that the pair will focus on their own ventures rather than embarking on them as a couple.

In December last year, GB News' Royal Editor Svar Nanan-Sen spoke of how they successfully executed 'two clear strategies' to improve their public standing.

The first 'strategy' saw Harry and Meghan take joint tours in 2024, including trips to Colombia and Nigeria. While the second 'strategy' saw them 'focus on building their individual brands in the US, rather than pursuing power couple status'.

Now, GB News has reported that the pair are building their own 'royal' household structure as they permanently separate their professional lives. This includes having their own chief of staff, which is seen as quite a surprising move.

It is reported that Miranda Barbot, a veteran political and media adviser who helped re-elect former POTUS Barack Obama in 2012, will work solely for Harry, while Sarah Fosmo, formerly an aide to Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, will support Meghan.

Communications strategist Meredith Kendall Maines will lead this new structure's 11 staff operating out of Montecito and the UK.

One of the first jobs the new household will be tasked with is supporting Meghan's business As Ever, as well as overseeing the second series of With Love, Meghan and helping to produce episodes for the Duchess' podcast series, Confessions Of A Female Founder.

And as for Harry?

It is reported that he is set to launch his own commercial venture in the coming months, though very little is known about the project currently. And he will, of course, continue to focus on the Invictus Games Foundation.

So, it seems it's onward and upward for Harry and Meghan, and we can't wait to see what they'll be up to next!
