Prince Harry fans all make same comment after spotting major change in his voice

The Royal's voice came under scrutiny after he appeared to get a fake tattoo in New York

While Prince Harry has been out of the Royal Family for a good few years, it’s only to be expected that he would go through certain changes.

Now that he lives in California with his wife, Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, he has had to become accustomed to a different life than the one he was brought up with.

But the 40-year-old has had a very specific change which has left fans confused.

Okay, so we’re all used to hearing Harry speak with the very recognisable royal twang, just as the rest of the family do.

However, he lives in the US now, and you know that it can only mean one thing.

Think Harry Styles.

He’s another Brit who has had a touch of the Californian influence.

While the Duke of Sussex used to sound as proper as anything, he seemingly has adopted a couple of Americanisms.

It was when he appeared at a New York tattoo parlour called East Side Ink for a fake tattoo for The Invictus Games promotional video, that fans really noticed his changing voice.

The clip featured Harry chatting with Jelly Roll, a musician.

But their conversation garnered a lot of interest when fans began to notice that Harry kept talking in an increasingly ‘American’ way.

Fans on X took to the social media platform to air their confusion.

One person wrote: "He totally has an American accent now”.

Another quipped: "Prince Harry’s British accent sounds more diluted to make way for the American accent."

Someone else shared: "It sounds like Prince Harry is losing his British accent."

To be fair, he was even using phrases which aren’t typical of British speech such as ‘Screw it, let’s do it’ and saying ‘dude’ a lot.

Then, instead of saying ‘arse’, he said ‘ass’, which is not how we say it in the UK.

So, he’s adopted the typical transatlantic accent now that he’s across the waters and it’s hard to know how to feel about it.

Anthony Shuster, a communication coach and accent specialist, shared to the Telegraph about why it was happening.

He explained: "You notice that there’s a huge difference between the way the King speaks and the way Harry now speaks.

"There’s very little articulation at all in his speech—it’s far more relaxed."

He also said it probably began ‘In 2019, after meeting Meghan’ as ‘there was already a noticeable shift.’

Harry’s love for the United States has meant that he’s now slowly turning into one.

He explained his fondness for the nation when he appeared on Good Morning America earlier this year when he said that he ‘loves every single day’ in California.

Harry added: "Our kids are bilingual, so they are going to flourish here."

However, it could all be down to wanting to be clearly understood by Americans.

The accent expert shared that ‘it could be that Prince Harry has started to borrow American phrases and words to fit in and be understood better by the American press’.

Let’s see how it evolves throughout the years.
