The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are faced with a major decision regarding the future of their eldest son, Prince George.

George, 11, is currently enrolled at Lambrook School, but his time there is set to end soon.

The young prince is second in line for the throne, with his dad's reign set to come first.

His parents are facing a huge choice - which is where to send the future King for the next portion of his education.

It's believed that the royal parents are in slight disagreement over the decision, and royal reporter Katie Nicholl has shared her take in an episode of The Sun's Royal Exclusive, with host Bronte Coy.

Coy said: "It seems to be the case that Kate and William are a little bit at odds on where he should go, whether he should go to boarding school or to a co-ed school."

Nicholl then added: "They’re going to have to make a decision quite soon about which school Prince George will go to because Lambrook, which is the school all three children are at, in Barkshire, is a pre-prep.

"Over here in the UK, there is a natural progression that you go at 13 to your next school and in the case of William and Harry, that was Eton."

She added: "We know Harry didn’t have a particularly happy time there but William did. He loved Eton and he thrived at Eton and went on, of course, to St Andrew’s and did very well there."

The royal expert then considered the idea that he may instead follow in the footsteps of Kate, who attended Marlborough, a public school.

She added: "Catherine was a pupil at Marlborough, she’s always loved that idea of a co-ed school. And in fact, before the children were at Lambrook, they were at Thomas’s in Battersea, and that was co-ed.

"Kate’s own experience was going to school with her brother James and her sister Pippa. There’s always the option that they could go to Marlborough."

Time will tell which school the parents opt for.

According to reports, George is fully aware he's going to be the King of England in the future.

Royal biographer Robert Lacey wrote in his 2021 book Battle of Brothers that Kate and William have made their son aware of his future.

He stated: “William has not revealed to the world how and when he broke the big news to his son. Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself.

"But sometime around the boy's seventh birthday in the summer of 2020 it is thought that his parents went into more detail about what the little prince's life of future royal 'service and duty' would particularly involve.”

He concluded: “William's aim as a father, the prince stressed, was to give his son 'a normal family upbringing', enabling the monarchy 'to stay relevant and keep up with modern times'.”
