Following the release of Prince George's official 12th birthday portrait, a particularly sweet detail has emerged.
For those who haven't seen it yet, the youngster's royal snap was released on the Instagram account of his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
"Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George! [birthday cake emoji]," the couple captioned the photo, which has since gone viral.
In it, the future King can be seen leaning over a gate, donning a khaki fleece gilet, which he'd paired with a check shirt. The background to the photo appears to show the prince enjoying a walk through the countryside.

Arms crossed, George is seen beaming in a way that mirrors the cheerful smile that his father William, 43, frequently sported in his younger years.

A number of fans immediately took to the comments of the birthday tribute, admitting they can't believe that the young prince is already 12.
"Happy Birthday to our little (not so little anymore) Future King!" one gushed.

Another added: "Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George! It feels like just yesterday he was a toddler."
"Happy Birthday. Please stop growing up so fast!" a third begged.
Many viewers of George's latest selfie don't seen to have clocked onto a heartwarming detail as of yet, despite it being right there tied around the prince's left arm.

The youngster appeared to be donning a braided friendship bracelet, similar in style to one previously spotted on the wrist of both his little sister, Princess Charlotte, and their grandfather, King Charles III.
Appearing at Wimbledon last year for the men's singles finals, 10-year-old Charlotte rocked both a purple and pink bracelet, as well as another in rainbow hues.
Months earlier, Charles, 76, had been seen wearing a red and yellow one during royal visit to the Channel Islands last July.
This isn't the first time that the eldest of the Wales' children has been spotted in his wrist-wear, however, with George having worn the same bracelet during his appearance in Berlin last summer for the EUROs final between England and Spain.

While we can't be certain of the association, George and Charlotte both enjoyed a meeting with Taylor Swift last summer following one of her Eras Tour dates in Wembley Stadium - shows famed for seeing attendees sharing friendship bracelets.
Could the pair have introduced their grandfather to the power of the Swifties?
We can't know for sure, but we love the idea.
