Lip reader reveals Kate Middleton's surprising comment about Melania Trump's outfit during UK visit

Fashion fans from around the world were perched on the edge of their seats yesterday, eagerly awaiting snaps of the First Lady and Princess of Wales coming together for their first public outing.

And by the sounds of things, both Melania and Kate had been long awaiting the same union, with the future Queen reportedly gushing over the Slovenian-born star's outfit.

For those out of the loop with this week's royal schedule, King Charles III and Queen Camilla have been hosting the US President and wife Melania Trump at Windsor Castle since the political leaders touched down at the royal residence.

Kate and husband Prince William met the Trumps after they first clambered out of their Marine One chopper, escorting them to meet with the monarch outside of the palace doors. Following several hand shakes and some small talk, they continued with their day, which consisted of state feasts, military parades, musical performances and speeches.

Trump's trip to the UK sees the 79-year-old making history as the first political leader to be invited for a state visit to the UK more than once, having been hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2019 during his first term.

As we say, as well as the political importance of the US-UK union, onlookers had also been waiting to catch a glimpse of the fashion-forward Melania and Kate enjoying one another's company.

"Okay, the sheer amount of elegance and fashion in one room is going to be a global event," one X (formerly Twitter) user gushed. "I am seated and ready for these pictures. This is a legendary pairing."

Another continued: "All I care about is Melania and Princess Kate’s drip…".

And apparently, mother-of-three Kate was just as excited for the very same get-together, and supposedly couldn't help but compliment Melania on her get-up just minutes after she and the President touched down.

According to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling - who spoke exclusively to Tyla on behalf of Betfair Casino - after walking the First Lady over to Camilla, she playfully leaned into Mrs Trump, noting her choice of outerwear.

"Your Macintosh is the same one I have, I wear it each time I fly," Hickling claims Kate, 43, gushed.

Melania is then said to have responded with just as much enthusiasm: "I know, it’s exceptional and such a comfort. Sometimes I wear it to the house."

This isn't the first time that the Princess and First Lady have duped one another in their attire.

Back in 2017, for example, to mark husband Trump's first inauguration into the White House, Melania donned a powder blue dress and matching bolero - a look that was somewhat mirrored by Kate, who wore a similarly cornflower Alexander McQueen number five years later, as cited by National World.

The powerful pair are also firm fans of polka dot, both boasting almost-identical back and white spotty gowns. Kate wore her Alessandra Rich version to the 2022 memorial service for the Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey, whilst Melania had worn a very similar dress to mark National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in the East Room of the White House in 2020.

Later today, Melania, 55, will spend some one-on-one time with Kate, with the pair planning to visit Frogmore Gardens together, where they'll be joined by UK Scoutmaster Dwayne Fields, as well as members of the Scouts' Squirrels program, in which the Princess was involved as a child, and of which she now serves as co-President.
