Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are 'pushing' a specific message with their Christmas card, according to a body language expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sparked controversy with the release of their 2024 Christmas card, which featured six snaps of the family from the past year.

"On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation," the public card's message began on a dark green background.

"We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year."

However, a body language expert has revealed what 'message' the couple were trying to 'push' with the card.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, body language expert Darren Stanton revealed: "Harry and Meghan are trying to portray how compatible they are as a team through all the things they have accomplished as team Sussex this year - as well as how powerful they are as a couple - in their Christmas card.

"Harry and Meghan are trying to push their brand as a couple. They want people to see their resilience and persistence as a team as they take on more projects alongside each other in 2025."

The expert also explained that the colour scheme of the card was important, noting that the royals had chosen a dark green background to promote 'elegance' and 'sophistication'.

He also accused the pictures of being slightly 'staged', as rumours have circulated in recent months about the couple potentially splitting.

Stanton added: "They are using tactile gestures that normally help suggest how connected people are to each other. But, from my perspective, their gestures look slightly staged. This results in there not being a huge level of authenticity between them as a couple.

"When they are looking in each other’s direction, it doesn’t look natural.

"There is difficulty in seeing genuine feelings of a strong rapport as the pictures are more thought out - in comparison to more natural, candid shots of the couple."

The expert also noted that it doesn't feel as though they will ever return to their duties as royals - and that Meghan was the driving force behind the card.

"It seems quite corporate and I think it’s kind of sending a message to the royals," he added.

Users on social media picked up that the couple still used their royal titles on the card, despite having stepped down in 2020.
