The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's 2025 Christmas card has sparked confusion with its release today, with viewers claiming something is 'missing'.

Having sent out annual cards since their 2018 wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opted to things up slightly this year by sharing a video, as opposed to a single image.

As a reminder, last year's edition was seen as extra special at the time, with the couple having invited both their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and their dogs to join in on the sweet snap. This marked the first time that the youngsters been photographed publicly in years.

This year, though, they published a compilation of footage on their charity Archewell's website, featuring clips from their year.

A number showed Meghan and Harry undertaking humanitarian work, whilst a number featured their kids - from the back, of course, with their faces covered, given the duo's bid for privacy.

One especially sweet clip saw Archie and Lilibet joining their parents for a surprise outing, where they prepared meals for their local community as part of Archewell's partnership with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA).

"On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year," the accompanying message read.

As we say, however, given that this year's card is formatted slightly different to those of years gone by, a handful of social media users seemingly failed to notice that the green-bordered snap of Meghan and Harry trudging through the snow simply forms the thumb of their video.

Instead, these few believe the image makes up the entire card - and as such, they're wondering why their children have been left out.

"Good for them keeping their kids out of it," one misunderstanding fan wrote on Reddit.

Another incorrectly questioned: "Yeah who needs their kids in Christmas card?"

"I’m sure the kids are on their private Christmas cards," wrote a third, whilst a fourth went on to admit: "Not my favorite of theirs. I like the one where Lili was ridding on Harry’s shoulders."

If only they'd pressed play on the video - they'd have seen the troublesome twosome in action.

Thankfully, however, fans of the Sussexes who are hoping to get another look at Archie and Lilibet can refer to mum Meghan's Instagram, given that the Duchess shared a never-before-seen photo of the pair as part of their 'second' festive release.

The sweet snap in question shows her, Harry and their children standing on a bridge, surrounded by winding trees and vast green wilderness.

Whilst 41-year-old Harry looks down lovingly at his son, six - who has his arms wrapped around him - Meghan and her daughter pose behind them, forehead to forehead.

"Happy Holidays! From our family to yours," the former Suits actress captioned the family photo.
