Meghan Markle has been praised for an unusual cooking skill after trolls criticised her over her latest video.

Sharing a clip on Instagram, Meghan could be seen rustling up a pasta dish, alongside the caption: "Cooking up more than pasta (with homemade preserved lemons)…..so much goodness is coming soon."

In the video, Meghan chops up garlic, herbs and her preserved lemons before adding them to a pan with a splash of oil.

She then pops some spaghetti on to boil, before adding a handful to the pan.

After some extra seasoning, a pinch or parmesan cheese and an extra drizzle of oil, the pasta dish is served.

Discussing the video online, many Meghan fans praised the Duchess of Sussex not only for the delicious recipe, but also for her chopping skills.

One person wrote: "I love the use of the lemons! And she has great cuttring technique."

While another added: "I went back to double check a couple times, on those knife skills!!

"Meg can actually cook, those are legit 'I spend real time in the kitchen!' cutting skills, as opposed to most 'celebrity cooks'!

"I knew from various stories over the years, that she did some cooking, but I didn't realize that she had this level of food knowledge."

And a third said: "She has good knife skills."

The comments unfortunately came amongst some negativity over the video, with some social media users criticising Meghan for sharing the pasta dish.

One person wrote: "Woman makes pasta wow... how did we ever live lemon pasta has been around for decades."

While another said: "More basic pasta dishes."

And a third added: "Lol, Meghan can cook pasta with lemon."

Earlier this week, royal fans made bizarre claims, after believing that a Christmas special of Meghan's show, With Love, Meghan would be aired at the same time as Kate Middleton's festive concert.

Royal expert, Hugo Vickers, told The Sun: "It's always said that whenever Catherine the Princess of Wales starts something that Meghan Markle does something else to cap it, or in some ways clash with it.

"Maybe that is the case. Obviously, there are lots of Christmas shows around Christmas.

"Having said that, of course, the initiative of the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey is incredibly moving and incredibly special, and is done for the benefit of the rest of the world, for all the people who've been suffering, all the people who've helped with charities, all that sort of thing, so it's all for the public good.”

Meghan fans have been left stunned by the accusation, with one writing on Twitter: "After #PrinceHarry & #Meghan 'extend' their #Netflix deal.

"THE GRAPES HAVE TURNED EXTREMELY SOUR THERE IN THE UK, they are accusing #PrinceHarry and #Meghan of 'hijacking Christmas.' Yes, really.

"And since when did Kate (and the Royals) own Christmas?"
