We now know why activist Malala Yousafzai and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle shared tea together last week – and Tyla can confirm this was for a good reason.
The pair were spotted together last week at the glamorous Claridge’s hotel in London by an eagle-eyed passerby as they were deep in conversation, reports Page Six.
Meghan followed up on Sunday by posting an image with a comment explaining the meet-up with the 29-year-old charity founder.
The Suits alum said, “When we support the girls of today, we empower the women of tomorrow. Access to education is the key to unlocking this.’ – Meghan, Duchess of Sussex & Malala Yousafzai.”

She confirmed her jam company would be working with Yousafzai’s foundation, The Malala Fund – which promotes child education in various countries across the world.
“This International Day of the Girl, in partnership with Archewell Philanthropies, 100% of net proceeds from As Ever jams and teas will support Malala Fund and its vital work to ensure that every girl has access to free, safe, quality education,” she wrote.
“Tea for Two has never felt so good. Shop at asever.com,” Markle concluded.
The pair have been seen together as far back as the Covid pandemic.
In 2020, the pair took part in an online conversation via the Malala Fund. The topic was the International Day of the Girl, how to remove barriers to girls’ education and how Covid was impacting children across the planet.
“Meghan and I are on the same page: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins,” the Nobel Prize winner tweeted after the meeting.

“Thank you so much to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for sitting down with me to have an important conversation about the future of our world. ♥️,” she added.
The meeting with Yousafzai last week was the first time Meghan had been seen in London since she and husband Prince Harry and children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet moved back to the UK from California in August.
They were, however, pictured holding hands while walking to their new local pub, The Falkland Arms, near their home in the Cotswolds.
A locals told the Sun Harry and Meghan were not treated any differently by customers or staff.

“Everyone here gets the royal treatment — it doesn’t matter who you are,” they shared.
“We’re lucky to get lots of different people visiting us, and everyone is treated like a local. When they visited, Harry and Meghan just acted like locals.”
The couple’s move from America has not been without its hiccups, however. They attracted attention after changing their children’s school at the last minute due to security concerns.
Last week, Harry insisted the kids “are happy in school” in an interview with CTV.
“It’s been great to be back on British soil,” the Spare author added.
