The anti-Meghan Markle brigade is operating in full force once again as online critics called her out for what they've branded an 'unhygienic' detail spotted in a new video she posted to social media.

Unfortunately for Meghan, she's been at the receiving end of a seemingly relentless barrage of bullying and internet trolling ever since she entered the Royal Family back in 2016, with many critics seeking out quite literally any opportunity to slam her and call her out, with the latest update in the saga being all to do with cookies.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared to share a story to her Instagram account for her food and lifestyle brand, @aseverofficial, where she could be seen making a cup of tea next to a plate of shortbread cookies with jam and flower sprinkles.

Can you spot what's got everyone so worked up in the below video?

The clip, shared to the Instagram Story of Meghan's food and wine brand As Ever, has critics up in arms that the Duchess of Sussex 'didn't notice' one key detail which might make the plate of cookies a little less appetising.

Eagle-eyed social media users were quick to notice that there appeared to be a tiny insect crawling around near a flower cookie at the bottom of the plate.

It could be seen moving around the biscuits for a few moments before disappearing from view.

"There’s literally a BUG crawling around on the plate! Meghan is so unhygienic," hit out one X user.

A second berated: "You would think Meghan would notice this BEFORE posting!"

"See the bug crawling around the cookie? Zoom in on the video. Eeeeeek!" lamented a third, while another hit out: "OMG there is the insect crawling into food. It’s so disgusting."

Many others, however, clearly didn't think the situation was that deep or warranted such a reaction.

"God forbid someone sits outside with food in peak summer, and a bug lands on your food. Happens to everyone!" pointed out one fan.

"And? So what. My kitchen has lots of flies, it's what happens in summertime, insects invade our kitchens and homes," explained a final X user.

Despite trolls online seeking out every opportunity they can to bully Meghan, she seems to be doing extremely well, given the fact that she has just released the new trailer for the second season of her upcoming Netflix show titled With Love, Meghan.

The first season, which hit our screens back in March, ranked tenth on Netflix's global top 10 shows list a week after its debut, having amassed 2.6 million views and 12.6 million hours watched in the week after it first debuted.

Likewise, As Ever, almost sold out immediately during a summer drop this year.

All eight episodes from the second season of With Love, Meghan will be available to watch on Netflix from next week (26 August).
