Meghan Markle has been defended by fans after sparking outrage over her 'banana split' recipe video.

Sadly for Meghan, who has recently starred in her very own lifestyle Netflix series, she's regularly been the recipient of immense online abuse. This only intensified after both she and her husband, Prince Harry, stepped down as senior royals back in January 2020 due to toxic media intrusion that was often extremely racially discriminative regarding the mum-of-two.

Such keyboard warriors seem to have something new to say about the Duchess of Sussex no matter what she does with the latest frenzy being due to one of her latest social media posts to her Instagram Story.

Take a look:

On Sunday (23 March), Meghan shared a series of clips featuring herself in the kitchen with one of her besties, Kelly McKee Zajfen.

In the first clip, Kelly can be seen adding the finishing touches on a sliced banana sprinkled with what is presumably some jam and honey from Meghan's As Ever brand.

The banana was beautifully presented with what appears to be yoghurt, berries and granola with the pair saying 'voilà!' after it was all prepared.

"When one of the besties reinvents a banana split for breakfast," Meghan captioned the post, while the second clip saw her next to Kelly as they did a cheers with their forks before taking a bite.

"So good!" Meghan beamed as she captioned the clip: "Happy Sunday!"

She then posted a close-up shot of the kitchen creation.

After watching her Instagram Story, it seems some people were seriously outraged after seeing Meghan and her mate enjoy some cut up pieces of fruit, with one Instagram user hitting out: "Revolutionary breakfast breakthrough… a banana."

"My god! The desperation is getting worse," slammed a second. "Eating a banana not a full banana just half a banana."

And a third piped up: "This sh*t is getting out of hand. EMBARRASSING!"

Fortunately, not everyone was throwing a tantrum over Meghan's latest post, with many fans rushing to defend her.

"That is wonderful, enjoy your life," praised one user, while another encouraged: "I'm so trying this. It looks so good. I love Meghan back on Instagram!"

And a final Instagram user noted: "Complaining about someone eating a half of a banana? Is there anything you want complain about?

"This is why no one takes you serious or listens to you, because it’s nothing but hate."
