On Tuesday (8 July), French leader Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, touched down in the UK to kick off day one of their three-day state visit.

The pair were greeted by Prince William and Kate Middleton, before soon meeting up with King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, where they all chatted and caught up.

During this point, according to a lip reader, Macron made quite the playful remark to Charles about his eldest son before the ruling monarch was bluntly corrected by William.

Speaking on behalf of Prime Casino, lip reader Nicola Hickling says that the group 'exchanged several light-hearted conversations during the official greeting'.

Opening up to Tyla about one particular question Macron asked William, Nicola claims the Prince told the French president: "I don’t know why I am so tall, ask my Pa, I’d also love to understand."

Both he and Macron then turned to look at Charles, with Macron remarking: "Incredibly tall."

"He is very tall," Charles replied. "He’s six foot one, he is, ever so."

William then stepped forward to correct his father, outlining: "Actually, I’m six foot three."

Macron then said to William: "Unlike us, we’re short."

During the visit, royal fans were also quick to notice that Charles was sporting a very obvious burst blood vessel in his right eye - something which has since prompted Buckingham Palace to issue a statement over.

A spokesperson for the Palace, as per GB News, confirmed the bloodshot appearance was 'due to a burst blood vessel that developed overnight, stressing it was unrelated to his ongoing cancer treatment and there was no cause for alarm'.

Additionally, we watched on as Macron appeared to be publicly 'snubbed' by his wife Brigitte.

Footage started making its rounds online after Macron offered the French First Lady a hand off the plan as they arrived London for the three-day visit, greeted by William and Kate.

However, she very noticeably ignored his offer, and instead opted to hold the handrail as she walked down the steps - leaving her husband to awkwardly drop his hand, before giving Kate's hand an air kiss.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, body language expert Darren Stanton told Tyla: "Macron held his hand out to be courteous to make sure his wife didn’t trip or fall, but she doesn’t appear to respond."

According to the expert, he showed 'signs of embarrassment' in the moments after the alleged snub, but 'still continues to try and help her'.

"However, she still doesn’t extend her hand, which means he’s left with his arm extended - which is a bit awkward," Darren added, speaking of Brigitte.

He concluded: "She appears to have completely ignored him in front of the world’s media, which could be seen as a big snub."

Tyla has reached out to Macron for comment.
