King Charles III and Queen Camilla have unveiled their Christmas card for 2025 - and not everyone's happy.

Royal Family fans will have been eagerly waiting for the annual tradition, which sees the monarch release an official card each festive season, usually featuring a portrait of himself and Camilla.

And yesterday (7 December) this year's edition was shared with the British public for the first time.

It's been revealed that the King and Queen chose their 20th wedding anniversary portrait, which was taken in April, to feature in the card this year.

Charles and Camilla are pictured standing side by side, with the Queen’s arm linking the King’s, in the grounds of Villa Wolkonsky, the British ambassador’s residence in Rome.

The photograph is framed inside the card by a dark red border, with the printed message in a matching colour on the opposite side reading: "Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year."

The King and Queen send out hundreds of Christmas cards each year to family, friends, world leaders, diplomats, charities and organisations - and this year, this is what they will receive.

As we say, it was taken when the royal couple reached their milestone 20 years of marriage on April 9 2025 while out of the country and on royal duty during their state visit to Italy.

In the image taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson, Camilla is wearing a white and beige coat dress by Anna Valentine and a lily of the valley brooch, while the King is dressed in a blue pinstripe suit with a grey tie and a silk handkerchief in his chest pocket.

However, some fans have taken issue with the fact that the picture was taken in Italy in hot weather, without a Christmas tree or bauble in sight.

One Twitter user wrote: "Maybe it’s just me but Christmas cards that say/look nothing like Christmas are stupid."

While a second added: "I wish the royals would put their backs into it with these Christmas cards! WHERE’S CHRISTMAS?! It’s just a photo from another day!"

And a third agreed: "Beautiful pic but it doesn't feel Christmas. Might I suggest a lovely pic from Windsor or Sandringham when the Christmas lights are lit. Or even taken out front of the St George chapel."

"You are head of the Church of England - so why isn't your Christmas card even remotely Christmassy or Christian?" questioned a fourth.

Meanwhile, a fifth sarcastically penned: "Oh how delightfully festive. A springtime photo from April in Rome with some fairy lights slapped on it. Truly captures the Christmas spirit."

And others questioned: "Where is Christ in this photo Christmas card?!!!!!" and "Wouldn't standing by a Christmas tree be more appropriate? The picture itself is lovely though."

But not everyone is disappointed and some royal fans have complimented the photo, with one writing on social media: "Rome's beauty makes a magical Christmas setting! Villa Wolkonsky reminds me of my own lovely visits to Italy."

And a second and third added: "Beautiful Your Majesties" and "What a lovely photograph."

Meanwhile, others chimed in with: "Lovely. Happy Christmas to them both" and "Beautiful love this."
