One Royal Family now owns more of London than King Charles

The likes of Buckingham, Kensington, Hampton Court and St James's Palace, as well as the Tower of London, all fall under Charles' authority

Despite being the ruler of the United Kingdom, King Charles III has recently been usurped by the Royal Family of another country in terms of how much London land he owns.

Unexpected new figures from a GB News report are said to indicate that the British King's personal foothold in the capital city is considerably lower than that of another empire.

This isn't to say that royal properties have been removed from Charles' roster, with Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and St James's Palace, as well as the Tower of London, and Hampton Court Palace, all falling under the authority of the Crown Estate.

This means that that they're all owned by the he sovereign in trust for the country - in this case, the King - and are not private property.

What the latest figures do indicate, however, is that over time, another monarchical household has quietly expanded their property portfolio in London to oust Charles.

We are, of course, talking about the House of Al-Thani, the ruling royal dynasty of Qatar.

According to new reports, the Qatari royal household have garnered quite the real estate empire in the UK's capital, that is now said to extend much further beyond the British Royal Family.

Unlike Charles, however, the Al-Thani family's portfolio is filled with wholly private listings - and being that their total wealth is estimated at around £2.4 billion, their collective properties must also be worth a pretty penny.

For reference, the House's leader, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is said to be worth about £1.6 billion alone.

The GB News report alleged that most of the Qatari Royal Family's residences are located in northwest Mayfair - so much so, that the affluent area is now dubbed by property experts 'Little Doha'.

A quarter of the community is said to be owned by the Al-Thani family, including the most expensive private home in the UK.

This palatial dwelling is understood to boast a staggering 44,000 square-foot, and was valued 10 years ago at £400m, as per Vanity Fair.

And apparently, the late Queen Elizabeth once jibed that the property made Buckingham Palace 'look rather dull' in comparison.

Also making up the 1.8m square-foot of real estate the Al-Thani family boast are hotels including The Berkeley, Claridge's, The Connaught, and The Emory, as well as landmarks like the Shard.

The Qatari Royal Family also co-own Canary Wharf, and have a 20 percent stake in Heathrow Airport.

Alright for some, eh?
