Now, while there's been absolutely no indication whatsoever that the United Kingdom's ruling monarch, King Charles III, is going away anytime soon, royal fans are sure to be intrigued that a number of key details from his funeral plans have now been revealed.
It may even surprise some royal fans that the 76-year-old Head of State, whose wife Queen Consort Camilla just turned 78 today (17 July), has factored in not only his now-distanced youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, but also their two children; Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three.
As we say, we don't know when such a date will happen but, whenever the time does come, Charles is reportedly keen for the royal family come together as a harmonic unit once his reign eventually comes to an end.

An event such as the King's funeral would understandably need sometimes up to decades of planning in advance with meetings between senior representatives from the royal household, the police, the military and the Church to ensure the whole thing goes as smoothly as possible.
And, according to The Telegraph, 'the Sussexes remain enveloped in the King’s funeral plans at the highest level'.
The outlet reports that Harry is 'expected to walk side by side with his brother', Prince William - who will by then be the King - at the forefront of the processions through the streets of central London.
Harry and Meghan will also reportedly be invited to take part in the family vigil during the lying in state at Westminster Hall and 'play a prominent role alongside the most senior royals during the funeral service'.

As we say, their children, Archie and Lilibet, will also attend the funeral service at Westminster Abbey, as well as the committal at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, should they wish.
Charles' funeral 'will look and feel much like Elizabeth II's' but the King has apparently 'made some changes to the plans, which are reflective of his own personal beliefs' with his lifelong dedication to the environment 'expected to be recognised with the incorporation of sustainable elements wherever possible'.
Additionally, the period of royal mourning will be reduced, bringing it into line with the period of national mourning.

According to the outlet, such a process will begin on the King’s death and last until the day of his funeral, 10 or 11 days later.

Contrastingly, when Elizabeth II died in September 2022, the period of royal mourning continued for a further week after the funeral.
While Charles is maintaining a full work schedule, despite still undergoing weekly cancer treatment, the inclusion of the Sussexes in the funeral plans may be of a surprise to some.

Harry has previously declared that he would never bring his family back to the UK unless he can guarantee full police protection, it's stated that the family-of-four would 'automatically be enveloped into the official security operation for such a state occasion'.
"Buckingham Palace aides insisted that the King’s funeral plans had not been finalised and cautioned against speculation," The Telegraph reiterates.
