King Charles praised for rare behaviour during Trump's UK visit

The US president was met by the Prince and Princess of Wales earlier today, before King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a military parade

Royal Family fans have been elated to see King Charles appear to show his more carefree side today, as he hosted US President Donald Trump for his second state visit to the UK.

The POTUS, 79, and First Lady, 55, were first greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales, after landing their Marine One chopper upon the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Trump and wife Melania were then escorted by a short distance Kate and William to meet the King and Queen, from where the historic trip would be officially launched.

Following a series of handshakes and a polite amount of small-talk, the group enjoyed a carriage ride around the gardens.

The Republican leader then spent the afternoon visiting St George's Chapel, where he laid a wreath on the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who hosted him and Melania in 2019 during his first term.

Later that day, King Charles and Trump sat front row to witness a Beating Retreat ceremony on the lawn, which involved a very musical military procession indeed.

And in footage that has since gone somewhat viral online, the King, 76, appears to be in his element during the parade, shown on Sky News to be playfully tapping his foot to the music.

After the moment was picked up on by a number of eagle-eyed viewers, one social media user gushed: "Cool to see king charles enjoying the ceremony moments like this keep royal events human and relatable."

Another agreed: "Love seeing this lighter side of King Charles."

Following the procession, the duo observed a flypast from the Red Arrows.

This evening, the King will host the Trumps again for a state banquet.

As for tomorrow, there are no public facing events lined up for the president during his two-day trip, which has prompted a protest in London, as well as anti-Trump placards popping up in Windsor.

Everything on the schedule will be taking place behind the walls of Windsor Castle, or UK PM Keir Starmer's country house, Chequers.

As for the First Lady, however, Melania will reportedly spend some one-on-one time with Kate Middleton.

The leading ladies plan to divert from the schedule on Thursday to visit Frogmore Gardens together, as per Vanity Fair, where they'll be joined by UK Scoutmaster Dwayne Fields.

It's said the trio will also be accompanied by numerous members of the Scouts' Squirrels program, in which the Princess was involved as a child, and of which she now serves as co-president.
