Rumour has it that the Prince and Princess of Wales aren't the only members of the monarchy that'll ascend to a new position when King Charles III passes on the baton in the coming years.
Sure, 43-year-old William will take over the throne, and wife Kate will sit beside him as queen. Their children - George, 11, Charlotte, 10 and Louis, seven - will also garner a number of new titles, too.
Interestingly, however, despite Kate, 43, marrying into the institution, her family will also reap the rewards of her and William's ascension, especially in the case of her little sister, Pippa.
Technically, the 41-year-old has no official aristocratic position - despite being married to billionaire, businessman and heir to a Scottish feudal title, James Matthews.

When her big sister becomes queen, however, it's very highly that Kate will make Pippa her official 'Lady in Waiting'.

And while this might seem like a rather archaic position - having come into fruition in the 9th century (the Middle Ages), and used primarily during the Tudor and Georgian eras - it's still very much real, and used at the discretion of the queen at the time.
Traditionally, the 'Lady in Waiting' position is given to a woman of the royal court, or a high-ranking noblewoman, and should be thought of as more of a close friend or secretary, rather than a mistress of servant.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, it isn't just Pippa that could receive an impressive honour in the coming years, with their mother, Carol, also rumoured to be in the running to become of one of Kate's official 'companions', a revamped version of ladies in waiting Camilla adopted when she became queen.
She chose six ladies for the role: Sarah Troughton; Fiona, the Marchioness of Lansdowne; Lady Katharine Brooke; Baroness Carlyn Chisholm; Lady Sarah Kewick; and Jane von Westenholz.

The jobs such a position comes with include 'supporting the Queen at official engagements', as per Today, and assisting her 'along with her private secretary and deputy private secretary'.

Apparently, Camilla also has two unofficial 'Ladies in Waiting', who work primarily behind the scenes, as opposed to attending royal appearances.
An insider told The Mail of this matter: "When she got married and set up her own office for the first time, she got two brilliant private secretaries, Amanda Macmanus and Joy Camm.
"But they were very much ‘two for the price of one.' Not only did they arrange all her engagements and projects, but they also acted as ladies-in-waiting if needed, accompanying her on official duties, collecting bouquets of flowers and the like.
"No one stands on ceremony in her office, everyone mucks in."
