Data has this week revealed which first names are most closely linked to a left-leaning political view.

The intriguing find comes after voter-registration analysis was carried out across 34 of America's 50 states, revealing which individuals voted for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris during last year's presidential race, and who voted for Donald Trump.

Whilst we're almost painfully aware of who came out on top during the 2024 election, with the Republican frontman having been in office for his second term of presidency since January, it's interesting to know the names of those who put him there, and those who voted against it.

As part of the latest study, major-party registrants were closely looked into by data officials, with names with the highest percentage of voters registered as Democrats having been revealed.

Names with at least 1,500 registrants were limited in order to ensure a considerable sample size.

It was found that the name 'Eboni' sat pretty at the top of the list of most common Democratic voters, with a staggering 96.1 percent.

This was closely followed by both 'Shaniqua' and 'Imani, each at 95.9 percent.

The rest of the top ten consisted of 'Shamika', 'Shameka', 'Aniya', 'Tameka', 'Shanika', 'Latoya', and 'Aniyah', which range from 95.1 percent and 95.7 percent of Democratic registrants.

According to Wall, these findings reflect long-term patterns in affiliation with left-wing politics, given that many of these names are common amongst Black females.

This group have consistently voted Democratic during elections at high rates for several years.

Though this isn't to say that these names automatically determine an individual's political identity, they can correlate with cultural, regional and generational factors which can impact political behaviour.

Data scientist Zachary Donnini also took to X recently to reveal the most commonly named male Democratic voters.

At the top of the list was 'Roosevelt', followed closely by 'Jamaal', 'Deandre', 'Md', 'Jermaine', 'Frantz', 'Jamel', 'Jamar', 'Raheem' and 'Antwan'.

When it comes to top Republican voters, Donnini also provided the goods - or the bads, however you want to see it...

The most commonly named individual to vote right-wing are 'Landen' with 82.1 percent, followed by 'Colten' at 0.01 percent less.

In third is 'Kade', followed by 'Colt', 'Brayden', 'Colten', 'Dawson', 'Caden', 'Brody' and 'Kaden', ranging from 81.8 percent and 77.7 percent of Republican voters.
