Melania Trump has made it clear she's alive and well after people started questioning her whereabouts.

The first lady this week released an official statement, responding to the speculation that she'd disappeared after failing to appear in public since her husband Donald Trump's inauguration last month.

The 54-year-old was very much visible when Trump was inaugurated into the White House in January - appearing at the festivities in an elaborate piece of headwear that immediately set tongues wagging.

Since then, however, Melania hasn't been spotted in public or at any events.

She firstly failed to turn up for a meeting Trump held with several world leaders earlier this month (4 Feb) - which saw the likes of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and King Abdullah of Jordan rock up to the White House.

Then, Melania reportedly missed out on a formal dinner Trump hosted in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, for the Republican senators and their spouses.

And she opted not to attend the Super Bowl last weekend - where her husband made history as the first sitting president to attend.

Melania has also remained offline since January over on her social media accounts.

"Where is Melania? Is she ok? We would love to see our First Lady again," one fan recently tweeted.

Another asked: "Does anybody know where Melania is?"

"Does anyone know where Melania is now? She was right by his side & now she's gone. I miss her being here!" a third wrote.

However, the first lady has now broken her silence, revealing she hasn't disappeared after all.

In a statement made by her office on Wednesday (12 Feb), Melania implied she's doing just fine by referring her attention directly to the reopening of the White House for public tours following its inaugural closure.

"The President and I are excited to reopen the White House to those interested in the extraordinary story of this iconic and beautiful landmark," her latest message read.

"There is much to learn about the American Presidency, the First Families who have lived here, and our Nation’s rich history from a firsthand experience at the White House."

She continued her statement by explaining: "This opportunity is unique among nations around the globe—a tradition we are honored to continue for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year."

Melania's update comes just weeks after she revealed she'd be spending the next four years dividing her time between three different destinations throughout the duration of her husband's presidency.

Speaking to Fox News last month (13 Jan), she discussed her and her son's living arrangements, adding that she'd be chopping and changing between Washington D.C., New York City - where son Barron currently attends university - and Palm Beach in Florida.

Melania explained at the time: "I will be in the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach.

"My first priority is to be a mum, to be a first lady, to be a wife."
