Lip reader reveals Melania Trump’s response to husband Donald's bizarre comments during birthday parade

The event, which took place on Trump's 79th birthday (14 June), was to celebrate the US Army's 250th anniversary

At almost every one of their public appearances, Donald Trump and First Lady Melania spark some sort of reaction online - and the US Army parade over the weekend was certainly no exception.

The US president’s multi-million dollar military parade on Saturday (14 June) has sparked a lot of chatter online as he was spotted watching the celebrations play out with his wife by his side.

The fascination with the couple has once again been sparked after a lip reader claims to have revealed what they said to each other during a quiet moment in the parade.

It comes as videos of Melania, 55, and Donald, 79, interacting in the crowd have been circulating online, including one where the first lady appears to lean over and playfully whisper something to her husband.

Speaking to the Irish Star, lip reading expert Nicola Hickling claimed that Melania simply said: "They're good,” as she watched the soldiers below.

Then, according to the expert, Trump bizarrely responded: “I pushed my finger on one of them.”

Yes, you read that right and no, we don’t know what it means either.

The first lady apparently replied with: “you didn't do that,” to which Trump said: “You're right, I never pushed my finger on them.”

Make of that alleged interaction what you will.

Elsewhere at the parade, another moment picked up on by social media users saw Trump seemingly struggling to keep his eyes open during the ceremony.

Videos circulating on social media show the US president fighting to stay awake as he appears to temporarily nod off - and Melania didn’t look too happy.

Someone shared a video to Twitter of Melania looking seemingly stony-faced as she watched the parade next to Trump, where they claimed she looked 'utterly mortified'.

In response, another chimed in with: "She doesn't look mortified, she's laughing at him," meanwhile, a third joked that it was 'probably past his bedtime'.

Another social media user commented: "Aren't parades supposed to more lively? Where's the music? Everyone is falling asleep!"

The parade, which coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday, was to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Armed Forces.

According to Reuters, the eye-watering cost of the parade was around $45 million and included more than 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, 50 aircrafts, and even a handful of robot dogs.

But clips and photos on social media paint a different story than the pomp Trump likely had in mind, as empty bleachers and seats were spotted in various videos of the procession.

One person took to Twitter to share a video of the soldiers marching next to the crowd which wasn't exactly looking jam-packed.

Not holding back, they wrote: “So, Trump’s “look at me” parade flopped. Another epic waste of OUR tax payer dollars.”
