JD Vance has given his two cents about becoming the centre of countless viral memes.

The US Vice President is well aware of all the memes of his edited face as of late. The internet has given him an enlarged purple face like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he’s been a minion, an emo fanatic, and a child with a hat and lollipop.

This came about after the disastrous meeting between Vance, President Donald Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which resulted in a verbal quarrel.

When Vance asked Zelenskyy if he had ‘said thank you once’ to Trump, no one initially expected it to spark a flurry of memes. "You have to say pwease and tank you, Mistow Zelenskyy," one X user wrote, alongside a photo of Vance taken during the meeting. However, his grinning face has been plumped up to make him look like a baby (it now has over 13.2 million views).

"For the last time, Mr. Wonka, I did not try any experimental gum, and frankly I find this entire line of questioning insulting," another person shared, along with an edited photo of Vance of a purple face to resemble Violet Beauregard.

Well as it turns out, Vance knows exactly what you’re all doing to his face online. Journalist Julio Rosas of The Blaze travelled with the VP and was able to share Vance’s reaction.

“I can confirm VP Vance has seen many of the memes/edits of his pictures and thinks it's a funny trend," he posted on X.

At least it sounds like he can take a joke.

In recent days, a relative of Vance criticised him over his argument with Zelenskyy during the infamous televised meeting at the Oval Office.

In the end, Zelenskyy left The White House early and cancelled a planned press conference, before he flew to the UK where he had meetings with prime minister Keir Starmer, followed by a summit with European leaders.

After much backlash from the media and public following the argument, Vance’s own cousin has criticised him and the President for ‘belittling’ Zelenskyy.

"There's a certain level of decorum that I expect from political leaders, especially in front of cameras," Nate Vance told the BBC.

Nate has spent three years volunteering with the Ukrainian military after Russia invaded and shared that he was ‘not happy’ with the way the White House meeting was handled.

He explained: "I'm kind of attached to the Ukrainian issue but, looking at that, if it were some other completely neutral issue and I saw White House officials and hack journalists that are political belittling a foreign leader, I'd be like 'what the hell is going on?'"

He went on to say that he disagrees with Vance's claims that Zelenskyy was ‘disrespectful’ for ‘litigating’ the dispute in front of the media.

He also doesn’t believe that Zelenskyy has failed to show appreciation for the US’s efforts during the invasion.

Nate said: "Zelenskyy does a daily or nightly address and thanks everyone who supports Ukraine on a daily basis.”
