JD Vance was brutally booed during a recent public appearance in Washington, DC.
This isn't the first time that this has happened, as the US Vice President was heckled as he visited the Indiana Statehouse earlier this month.
The 41-year-old was sent across by Donald Trump to pitch to lawmakers, in a bid to pressure red states to redraw their congressional maps before the midterm elections.
When the VP was initially welcomed to the stage, he was subjected to a chorus of booing.

Vance has now faced even more heckling as he greeted National Guard troops at Shake Shack in DC’s Union Station on Wednesday (20 August).
While meeting with the troops at the restaurant, Vance said to them: “You guys bust your a** all day and we give you hamburgers - not a fair trade, but we’re grateful for everything you do.”

“Hey, guys, at ease,” Vance also said as he arrived, where Guard members were standing to attention.

“So, we decided to bring the Secretary of Defense and Stephen Miller,” Vance told the National Guard troops as protesters booed him from the sidelines.
Speaking to the press, Stephen Miller went on to call the protesters ‘stupid white hippies’ and ‘communists.’
When asked why the troops were at the station instead of areas which see higher crime rates, Vance claimed it was because the area had been overrun by ‘vagrants, drug addicts, the chronically homeless and the mentally ill’.
“This should be a monument to American greatness,” he said, before adding: “We do not have to live like this.”

Vance then addressed protesters who called out ‘Free DC’, saying: “It’s kind of bizarre that we have a bunch of old, primarily white people who are out there protesting the policies that keep people safe when they’ve never felt danger in their entire lives.”
Some called out over Vance as he spoke, and chanted ‘shame’, ‘this is our city’, and also, ‘we want the military out of our streets’, as per CNN.

“You hear these guys outside. They appear to hate the idea that Americans can enjoy their communities,” said Vance, calling them ‘crazy protesters’.
People online who saw the heckling of Vance had a lot of opinions about whether it was right to do so.

One person wrote under a video: “I'm not a fan but this stuff solves nothing and other people - and kids maybe - shouldn't hear this stuff.”

A second commented: “It’s what he deserves.”
Another added: “Absolutely made my day, thank you for posting this.”
While someone else wrote: “JD Vance is literally the most likeable politician and people just race to the bottom to show how evil they want to be able to be to others. It’s sad. I could never imagine doing this to Barack Obama.”
And a final user commented: “He doesn't care.”
