Donald Trump has responded to Hilary Clinton after she claimed the Jeffrey Epstein files were being mishandled by the Trump administration.

The former First Lady of the US and former Secretary of State has accused the POTUS of ‘covering up’ the contents of the Epstein files while in attendance at the World Forum conference.

"Get the files out. They are slow-walking it," she said.

The Clintons are due to appear in front of Congress to testify about their knowledge of Epstein and their association after Bill Clinton was seen to be in the files numerous times. He will appear on 27 February, and Hillary will appear on the 26th.

"We will show up but we think it would be better to have it in public," Hillary told the BBC.

"I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way."

She added: "We have nothing to hide. We have called for the full release of these files repeatedly. We think sunlight is the best disinfectant."

However, she went on to claim that she and husband Bill were being used to divert attention from Trump, who also appears in the files.

"Look at this shiny object. We're going to have the Clintons, even Hillary Clinton, who never met the guy,” she said, referencing the disgraced financier, who was convicted of running a sex trafficking ring that included some of the world’s most powerful people.

When Trump caught wind of Clinton’s comments and was asked about them on Air Force One yesterday, he issued a heavy response. The POTUS claimed his administration have helped the victims of Epstein more than the Democrats, and that Clinton had been hit with ‘Trump derangement syndrome’, a pseudoscientific term to describe negative reactions and feelings to Trump.

Trump told the BBC about his involvement in the Epstein case and his inclusion in the files: "I've been exonerated. I had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. They went in hoping that they'd find it, and they found just the opposite."

He said of Clinton: “I watched her in Munich, and she seriously has Trump Derangement Syndrome. I've been totally exonerated on Epstein, and it's really interesting because they have been pulled in... Clinton, and many other Democrats have been pulled in."

The White House has long defended Trump after his name was found within the files. He's also been pictured over the years with Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is still currently in a US prison for her crimes.

They said: "By releasing thousands of pages of documents, co-operating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena request, and President Trump recently calling for further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends, the Trump administration has done more for the victims than Democrats ever have."
