A bizarre connection has been made between WrestleMania and one of Erika Kirk's Turning Point events.
Yes, you read that right, although I'm not sure it's a sentence I ever thought I'd write.
The conservative activist, 37, whose husband, Charlie Kirk, was tragically assassinated in September, introduced US President Donald Trump at a Turning Point Action rally in Arizona on Friday (17 April).
But before this, her own entrance to the stage was quite the spectacle, and it has become somewhat of a meme online, with people comparing it to the walk-ons of wrestlers at the sporting event - which coincidentally, also took place over the weekend.

Strobe lighting and a giant pink USA flag projection lit up as an announcer welcomed Kirk onto the stage, while the crowd stood up and cheered upon her arrival, with some heavy electronic music playing in the background.
Trump himself got a similar entrance when it was his turn, and since it's not exactly what you'd expect at a political event, social media users have quickly rushed online to joke about the unexpected moment.

One X user wrote: "Wrestlemania-style pyro blasts as Trump comes out at Turning Point and hugs Erika Kirk."
While a second posted an actual WrestleMania clip, alongside the caption: "Erika Kirk sending this s*** to her production team as we speak #WrestleMania."
A third and fourth joked: "Here was Erika Kirk making her WWE-style entrance yesterday!" and "She must have known it’s Wrestlemania week."
While a fifth chimed in with: "I can’t believe this is real. Erika Kirk gets a WWE entrance before Trump's speech in Arizona..."
And a sixth quipped: "Hell, WHY NOT? At this point, you can't tell an Erika Kirk entrance from a pro wrestling entrance. #Wrestlemania."
As per The Independent, Kirk's dramatic entrance came after she skipped a similar rally in Georgia with Vice President JD Vance, due to 'unspecified security threats'.

Vance said on stage, as per MassLive: "About two hours ago, I was a little worried that we were going to have to cancel the event because Erika was not going to come, and she was very worried about it.
"I talked to the Secret Service, and obviously, these guys do a very good job. And I said, 'You know what? Let's let Erika do what she needs to do for herself and her family."
In a social media post, Kirk added: "I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance, but after all our family has been through, I take my security team’s recommendations extremely seriously.
"Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support. God bless you all!"
