Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s so-called ‘break-up’ has become a subject of worldwide attention in recent weeks - and it looks like the tech boss isn’t taking it well.
For those who aren’t quite up to speed, the 53-year-old billionaire resigned from his role in the Republican administration on May 29.
It came five months after Musk was made one of Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) co-leads.

As a ‘special government employee,’ he was allowed to work a federal job for 130 days each year.
During his time in the role, the Tesla CEO came under fire for brutally axing thousands of government and civil positions with the support of the president.

Despite his role only ever being temporary with a time limit, people are guessing that there could be more to it as Trump and Musk’s relationship has appeared to become increasingly fragmented.

And now, a new TikTok clip from Now ThisImpact, shared from an interview with CBS News, suggests that, as to be expected with any ‘break-up,’ there is still a bit of awkwardness between the two.
In the video, which was posted on Monday (June 2), a reporter said to Musk: “I noticed that all of your businesses involve a lot of components, a lot of parts.”
He then asked: “Do the tariffs and the trade wars affect any of this?”
Clearly not wanting to talk about, the tech boss replied: “You know, tariffs affect things a little bit.”

But, continuing to push, the reporter then asked: “Wondering what your thought is on the ban on foreign students? The proposal. I mean, you were one of those kids, right?”

Getting visibly frustrated, Musk quipped: “Yeah. I mean, I think we want to stick to, you know, the subject of the day, which is spaceships, as opposed to you know, presidential policy.”
The interviewer looked surprised as he responded: “Oh, I was told anything’s good,” to which Musk quickly hit back with: “No, well, no.”

One commenter rushed to give their verdict, writing: “Bro knows that going into politics has completely ruined his image and is trying desperately to get people to see him as a genius again.”
Another brutally added: “The damage is done. He isn’t coming back from it.”
Meanwhile, a third quipped: “Elon didn’t stick to spaceships. Why should the interviewer?”
And someone else rightly pointed out: "Few months ago all he wanted to talk about was politics."

It comes after last month, Musk appeared to be throwing shade at Trump's overspending, vowing during an interview with Bloomberg's Mishal Husain: "I think, in terms of political spending, I’m going to do a lot less in the future."
He concluded: “I think I've done enough."
And the ultimate reason for Musk's departure was again alluded to in another tweet that he reposted with his own account.
Shared by an account named @cb_doge, the follow-up tweet read: "In the coming days, legacy media will try to convince you that President Trump and Elon Musk are no longer friends and that’s why Musk left."
The statement continued: "What they won’t tell you is that Elon was a Special Government Employee, limited to 130 days of service and that term ends tomorrow."
