It seems like political frenemies Elon Musk and Donald Trump are back 'on' again, with the former seemingly sucking up to the latter on social media following their month-long slanging match.
For those in need of a reminder, the tech boss stepped down from his Department of Government Efficiency co-lead position (handed to him by Trump in January) back in May, with his gig in the limited role having come to an end.
In the days that followed, he and 79-year-old Trump began brutally ripping into one another online.

Musk, 54, slammed the politician's 'disgusting' 'big beautiful bill', before promising to drop a 'bomb' on Trump, claiming on Twitter, '@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!'

These files refer to documents, videos, and investigative materials related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's heinous crimes. It is already known that Trump is named in the documents, though no allegations have been made against him.
In response, the right-wing leader has since admitted he is 'very disappointed' by Musk's financial outburst, claimed the X owner was 'wearing thin' in his DOGE role and was 'asked' 'to leave', and threatened to deport the South African out of the United States.

Responding to the latter claim - made just a number of days ago - Musk then made a very ominous threat of his own.
"So tempting to escalate this," he wrote in the comments to Trump's clip. "So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now."
As we say, however, it seems the ex-partners are back on speaking terms, with Musk since gushing over the President in a new statement.
The father-of-13 shared a screengrab of a message Trump had penned on Truth Social in relation to the second ceasefire he has attempted to put into place between Israel and Palestine.

The Republican's note read: "My Representatives had a long productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day ceasefire, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War.
"The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas will take this Deal, because it will not get better - IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention on this matter."
Resharing Trump's message, Musk surprised users by heaping praise onto his former friend, writing: "Credit where credit is due.

"@realDonald Trump has successfully resolved several serious conflicts around the world."
Despite the allegedly honourable intentions of the Tesla CEO's message, the move has caused quite a star online, with a number of social media users having since issued the same confused yet unsurprised response.
"Ahh, so you backed down huh? It was expected," one hit out. Another agreed: "Of course he backed down."
Another predicted: "@elonmusk will choose money over principles, quietly delete a bunch of tweets, and kiss up to Trump again.

"No new political party, no primarying of maga Republicans, nothing. Just a very low bow, a smooch of his king's ring, and a slink back to his game console."
Others have issued a reminder that Musk was the most generous donor to Trump's electoral campaign last year, with one writing: "If Elon Musk had a spine he might actually be somebody to admire.
"Instead, he'll forever be known as the feckless far-right disinformation propagandist who helped the most incompetent president in US history get elected."
Another seconded the same motion: "B***h, you just need to shut the f**k up @elonmusk. YOU are the one who spent $288 million to put Krasnov @realDonaldTrump in office. Without his b***h a*s in office NONE OF THIS would be happening.
"But you footed that bill just to have the opportunity to dismantle or defund governmental departments investigating YOUR companies - and you used DOGE to do it. So don't b***h and whine about what's happening now when you are the root cause."
Agreeing, one user addressed Musk directly: "Hey @elonmusk, wanna get rid of Trump quickly? Disclose details of how you helped him win the elections, face the consequences, and save the country.
"Or just shut up. It's pathetic at this point."
