Donald Trump had his latest public speech brutally upstaged by an audience member mimicking his signature movements.

The US President appeared at a high school in Marietta, Georgia, on Wednesday (22 Jul), for a Republican rally, which he used to showcase the Japan-based investments he was set to make in the state.

Trump discussed his plans for the construction of an industrial diamond plant, which he says will boost Georgia's economy.

"Japan is investing $600 million in a cutting edge diamond process facility as you probably read this morning in your state," the 80-year-old began. "Yamaha Motors is building its brand new US headquarters in Kennesaw."

Unfortunately for Trump, however, his passionate update was overshadowed by an audience member who suddenly began performing hand gestures that mimicked those often exhibited by the right-wing leader.

As he continued, the man - a tall, brunette fellow - flipped his hands around in rigid postures. He also bore Trump's same deep frown on his face, and talked through the lower portion of his mouth.

"And more money is being invested in the United States right now than at any time in the history of our country and Americans are working today more so than ever before," Trump said, the man behind him echoing the words 'than at any time in the history of our country'.

He went on: "We have more jobs today than we’ve ever had and it’s not even close. More people are working now than at any time in the history of our country."

The man - who hasn't yet been identified - stood up towards the end of Trump's speech, suddenly holding up a sign for 'TrumpAccounts.Gov', describing a new children's investment initiative being introduced by the Trump.

Footage of the bizarre interaction has since gone viral online, with onlookers commending the man's routine, which Trump hasn't yet commented on.

"The guy highlighted is out here giving the performance review nobody asked for but everyone watched," one X user wrote. "10/10 commitment."

Another jibed: "He deserves an Oscar. It's not easy to imitate the movements of a clown."

A third teased: "This is absolutely humiliating."

"When the speech is long enough for the audience to start their own show behind you," a fourth continued. "Free entertainment at its finest."

"That dude's hilarious...can we make this a trend?" another asked.
