People have spotted a woman's reaction to meeting Donald Trump after she accepted a medal on behalf of her late father this week, and safe to say it's given the internet something new to make fun of the POTUS.

On Monday (19 May), Trump held a ceremony at the White House where he awarded the first-ever Medals of Sacrifice to the families of three officers killed in the line of duty.

Corporal Luiz Paez Jr., Deputy Ralph 'Butch' Waller Jr. and Deputy Sheriff Ignacio 'Dan' Diaz were killed by a vehicle last November while out on motorcycle patrol.

During the ceremony, Trump presented an award to Alexandria Diaz, who is the daughter of Deputy Sheriff Ignacio 'Dan' Diaz.

in the footage, Alexandria can be seen standing calmly as photographers take her photo next to Trump, and people watching online quickly pointed out she didn't seem too impressed with the encounter.

One wrote: "Trump looks confused, shocked, and embarrassed about why this woman accepting a medal on her father’s behalf refused to worship the ground he walks.

"Her dad was a law enforcement officer who died last year in the line of duty."

Meanwhile another said: "He can’t believe she won’t even look at him."

And a third added: "Oh she does not want to be there good for her."

Speaking at the event, Trump explained that a new bill had been introduced following the devastating tragedy.

"Today we remember three remarkable heroes who will become the medals' first-ever recipients. That's a big honor," he said.

"Earlier today, Congressman Brian Mast introduced a bill to ensure this new medal will be awarded to any law enforcement officer or first responder who gives his or her life in the line of duty. The three officers we recognize today were close friends and colleagues. And together, they dedicated their lives to protecting the people of Palm Beach County and well beyond.

"This was a terrible tragedy. It shook the entire Palm Beach community. All of Florida mourned their loss and today our entire nation joins in honoring these three incredible patriots taken from us much too soon."

Speaking about the decision to create a medal to honour the officers, Eric Trump said: "My father and I attended the funeral that day and I can't tell you how moving that experience was.

"And one simple question was asked: Why is there no medal of valor, medal of sacrifice that commemorates law enforcement officers, first responders who have fallen in the line of duty?"
