Britain is set to be hotter than Istanbul just in time for the country's New Year celebrations.
However, before you get excited and organise a pool party, it definitely isn't going to be bikini weather.

A blanket of cloud will keep the heat in the heat, meaning we could be looking at a mild New Year's Eve.
The west of the UK could also reach double figures.
It's also good news as the mild spell will start from today (Thursday), with parts of Pembrokeshire, Cornwall, Gwynedd and Yorkshire hitting 10C this afternoon.

While the Turkish city isn't likely to get any warmer than 6C.
Met Office meteorologist Helen Roberts said: "A big blanket of cloud will keep temperatures up. There's also clearer skies in the south west, which is where we might see a touch of frost and fog.
"As we head through the rest of Thursday, still that cloud across the bulk of the country. Brighter skies in the far north and a little bit of rain across western and southern parts of Scotland.

"It's the far south of the UK where we have the better chance of seeing some sunshine. Temperatures still a touch above average for the time of year, particularly in the west.
"For tomorrow as we end the week, some fog patches first thing in the morning and outbreaks of rain in the far north but otherwise it's another largely dry but cloudy day."
The north will be less settled than the south with some rain and strong winds. But temperatures will be mild throughout the week with lows of 7C and highs of 11C.

It is also looking pretty promising for New Year's Eve as it should be dry and pretty warm. High temperatures of up to 11C means you won't need to wrap up too much if you're going to a firework display.
The temperature will be twice as warm than the average for December only dropping to 9C in London, 8C in Manchester and 7C in Birmingham for the countdown to 2019.
