Spiritual theory you might want to pay attention to if your left hand gets itchy

What does it mean if your left hand is itching?

If your left hand is itching then this could have a particular spiritual significance.

Kamela Hurley is an influencer and medium who opened up about what certain sensations and signs could mean, according to some spiritual theories.

There are actually several beliefs attached to the left hand feeling itchy or disturbed, this is to do with the significance around parts of the body in different superstitions.

Hurley told Parade: "Ancient wisdom and modern mystics believe the body is a sacred map that can reveal omens and signs of destiny."

"The left side of the body represents feminine energy, which is about attracting and receiving. Many consider itchy left hands to indicate incoming abundance, good fortune and luck."

But what is the specific thing that an itchy left hand might mean for you? And no, it's not eczema.

Spiritually, this is associated with money or incoming financial luck.

"It has long been believed the left palm is lucky for money," Hurley said.

"Thus, the left palm itching may very well be a spiritual sign of incoming money or abundance in some other form.

"It may also be a sign that a new beginning is on the horizon, or some type of success is near."

But that's not it, Hurley explains, as where the itching is on your hand could also point to subtle differences in its meaning.

For example, she explained that the centre of the palm could be 'signs of spiritual awakening or energetic upgrade'.

Meanwhile, an itchy pinky finger is connected to the heart chakra, Hurley says, and could mean you want to focus more on 'love and relationships'.

It's an itch in the lower hand or wrist which could see increased 'abundance and good fortune'.

The idea comes from a modern reimagining of chakras, or the idea of energy points at different places on the body.

Chakras originate in Hindu and Buddhist practices from around the 8th century, where the first ideas of them as nerve centres in the body are seen in what is now India.

Since then, Hindu and Buddhist traditions have developed in different ways, though chakras are often used as an aid to meditation, or alongside practicing yoga.

Of course, beliefs around the left hand can be very different, with left handed people even forced to write with their right hand until relatively recently, due to conceptions around being left handed being associated with the devil.
