Amber Heard's friend has claimed that Johnny Depp joked about being able to 'punch' his now-ex wife once they were married.

As the defamation case continues, Heard's friend iO Tillett Wright gave testimony in a pre-recorded video that was played in the courtroom on Tuesday. You can watch his testimony here:

According to Wright’s testimony, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor also admitted to experiencing 'great bouts of jealousy' in relationships, which also fuelled his alcohol issues.

He testified: “He experienced great bouts of jealousy in relationships that had also led to a lot of drinking and a lot of rage activities."

He then claimed Depp admitted that there had been 'rage activities' in his past relationships with Stranger Things actress Winona Ryder, supermodel Kate Moss and actress and singer Vanessa Paradis.

During his testimony, Wright said he became friends with Heard first, who then introduced him to Depp. They became close until he ended his friendship with the Edward Scissorhands actor in 2015.

Wright claimed he had a conversation with Depp at the couple’s wedding in the Bahamas in 2015, and alleged the actor said he would be able to 'punch her in the face' once they were married.

He said in the pre-recorded deposition: "I was walking with Johnny and congratulating him that they pulled it off and that they did it.

“And he said: ‘We’re married now. I can punch her in the face and nobody can do anything about it'.”

Depp’s defamation lawsuit against Heard over a 2018 article in The Washington Post continued on Monday after a week-long break.

On Monday, Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez questioned the Aquaman actress about her pledge to donate her full $7 million (£5,613,300) divorce settlement to the ACLU and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

She admitted that despite claiming under oath in Depp’s 2020 libel case against The Sun that she had made the donations, she has not made the contribution.

The trial continues later today.
