Trump fuels outrage with bizarre comparison between Sydney Sweeney and ‘no longer hot’ Taylor Swift as people voice major concern

The American President has faced backlash for his latest post, which strangely compared Sydney Sweeney to Taylor Swift

Donald Trump has erupted into a bizarre fiery rant comparing Sydney Sweeney to Taylor Swift - and people are all saying the same thing.

Yep, you read that right - the American President, 79, took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday (4 August) to write a lengthy statement about the two celebrities.

It comes after the news that Sweeney reportedly registered as a Republican voter in Florida a few months before Trump was voted in as President for the second time, as reported by The Guardian.

Clearly happy about this fact, Trump branded the Euphoria actress' latest American Eagle advert as the 'hottest out there' before strangely turning his attention to Swift and calling her 'woke'.

It also comes at a time when Sweeney is facing backlash for the advertisement, with theorists claiming that her 'great jeans' is a coded promotion of eugenics, despite the brand denying this.

He penned: “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves. Go get ‘em Sydney!"

Later in the long message, Trump then continued: "Just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on [Truth Social] that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”

Trump then signed off with: "The tide has seriously turned - Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Understandably, people are at a loss for words by the fact that the US president is comparing the looks of famous women on social media, especially at a time when there are a slew of other issues going on in the US and around the world.

One user questioned on Twitter: "Does he not have more important stuff to worry about?" while a second added: "This is the president of the United States. Let that sink in."

"Trump is old enough to be their father, why does he make these kinds of opinions?" asked a third.

While someone else pointed out: "This is his 100th time obsessing over Taylor while the country is melting."

Baffled, someone else questioned: "This is the president??" while another wrote: "Reducing women to who's 'hot' or 'not' based on politics is peak 1950s energy."

"What the f**k is he even talking about?? He literally has bigger issues to deal with," agreed another.

Meanwhile, others chimed in with: "Is this man alright? A president saying this??" and: "I can’t believe he’s the president. Could you imagine Obama posting this?"

It's certainly not the first time Trump and Swift have clashed, as he didn't take it too well when the hitmaker publicly supported Kamala Harris during the last election.

She wrote in a post on social media at the time: "I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.

"I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos."

The public endorsement seemed to upset the Republican as he later wrote on Truth Social: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" with no further context or elaboration.

And again in May of this year, he couldn't help but hit out again as he wrote: "Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she’s no longer 'HOT?'" once again failing to elaborate.
