Donald Trump didn’t receive the best reaction at the NBA Finals in New York City on Monday night.
The US president attended Game 3 at Madison Square Garden which saw the New York Knicks face off against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Knicks are Trump’s hometown team and the Monday night game marked the first time the team has made it to the championship since 1999.
But when Trump, who is one of their most high-profile supporters, was shown on the Jumbotron saluting the flag, a huge wave of very loud boos could be heard across the arena according to videos shared on social media.

Trump is the first sitting US president to attend an NBA Finals game, according to ESPN,
Unfortunately, the Knicks lost the game with a score of 111 while the Spurs finished with 115. It was the first game the Knicks lost in 46 days, putting an end to streak of success across 13 consecutive games.
This has come as a huge blow to fans whose excitement for the team's achievements took a shocking twist. NBA fans are now jokingly blaming the result on Trump’s attendance.
One spectator said: “I’m not an expert on jinxes, hexes, curses, and voodoo. Not superstitious either.
“But if I was the Knicks, I probably wouldn’t let Trump near the arena for Game 4. Just to be on the safe side.”
Another viewer posted: “It’s obvious why the Knicks lost. Donald Trump curse lives on lol.”
"Trump brought his curse to the Knicks game, and New Yorkers hate him even more now," a third person joked.

While someone else quipped: “Knicks fans, you have been cursed by Trump.
The president has attended several major sporting events since returning to the White House last year.
He went to the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, the men's U.S. Open tennis final, and a Washington Commanders NFL game.
His appearances have drawn mixed reactions from crowds, with fans booing at the Commanders game and a combination of cheers and boos at the U.S. Open final.
The so-called Trump Curse is obviously not a real phenomenon or a recognised concept in sports, but the hilarious superstition around it has gained some traction on social media.
Because Trump frequently comments on sports and attends major sporting events, there are many opportunities for both wins and losses, which makes it easy for people to notice losses that fit the concept of a Trump Curse.
