After Luigi Mangione was apprehended by police this week (9 December) for the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, hundreds of spectators are begging Kim Kardashian for help.

The plea comes since the 26-year-old Ivy League alum accumulated a cult following since his mugshot went somewhat viral.

Maryland-born Mangione was taken into custody on Monday (9 December), five days after Thompson was shot whilst he was exiting the Hilton Hotel on Sixth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.

A McDonalds employee working in Pennsylvania had identified Magione after he initially went on the run - with police issuing an image of the gunman online.

He was caught with items linking him to the crime, including a gun, mask and a handwritten document, which was later found to be his manifesto.

The letter heard Mangione explain that he'd worked single-handedly, accusing Thompson of having 'abused our country for immense profit' and claiming that the 'American public has allowed them to get away with it'.

He added that 'these parasites had it coming' and 'I do apologise for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done'.

As we say, however, news of Mangione's arrest has led many US reality TV fans to reach out to Kim Kardashian because of her links to the US legal system.

The socialite and mother-of-four announced her plans to train in law back in 2018, when she pledged to advocate for prison reform.

Since then, as well as assisting in the release of several wrongly-convicted prisoners - including grandmother Alice Johnson who was imprisoned for life over minor drug charges and another low-level drug offender who'd received a similarly extreme sentence.

Back in September, Kim was also seen visiting the world-famous Menendez brothers, who are currently serving life in a California prison without the possibility of parole following the 1989 murder of their abusive parents, with many believing she could be playing a part in their re-sentencing.

As such, many followers of the Mangione case are imploring with 44-year-old Kim to work her magic and represent him in court, with some even hailing him a hero for murdering the controversial CEO.

Others, however, are issuing the plea with jest, with his arguably 'hunky' mug-shot gaining him quite the cult following.

Taking to social media, one begged: "Somebody please contact kim kardashian and tell her to protect luigi mangione, he cannot go to jail."

Another added: "kim kardashian is looking at ways to set him free as we speak!! the inevitable skims campaign will break the internet..."

"Kim Kardashian needs to get Luigi pardoned and then get him in a Skims campaign," a third went on.
