The murder of Dee Dee Blanchard is a case which had incredible amounts of shocking twist and unbelievable cruelty.

But while one of the assailants shows remorse for their part in the killing, the other isn’t quite as apologetic.

In fact, he went on to admit that he carried out a ‘sexual fantasy’ immediately after the murder.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard conspired with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn who she met online.

After suffering for years at the hand of her mother, who went on to force her into getting unnecessary medical procedures and convinced everyone around them that she was severely sick, the girl decided to have her own mum killed.

Nicholas and Gypsy Rose murdered Dee Dee Blanchard in 2015.

Back in 2015, the couple decided to plan their attack, with Nick playing the role of the killer and Gypsy Rose as the one to orchestrate it.

In June of that year, Dee Dee came back home with Gypsy Rose and went to sleep in her room, but she wasn’t to know that her daughter had let the killer into her home and armed him with duct tape and a knife.

It was only after Dee Dee’s Facebook posts set off alarm bells that neighbours sounded the alarm and police went on to discover the body days later at her Missouri home.

The post that had people worrying for the safety of Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose read 'that b***h is dead'.

Police initially suspected that Gypsy Rose had been abducted, but after tracking the IP address of the social media post to Wisconsin, they found Gypsy Rose and Nicholas and arrested the pair in connection to Dee Dee’s death.

It also uncovered the awful abuse that Gypsy Rose had been subjected to.

During the investigation, doctors determined that Gypsy Rose didn’t suffer with the things that Dee Dee had claimed, leading them to believe that the mother suffered from Munchausen by proxy syndrome, which is a mental illness that involves a parent or guardian faking symptoms to make it appear that their child is sick.

Once it became apparent that the pair murdered Dee Dee, Nicholas was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, and Gypsy Rose was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

However, even though Gypsy Rose has admitted to regretting her mother’s death ahead of her release, Nicholas doesn’t feel the same.

Speaking in the Oxygen documentary Killer Couples, he disclosed that minutes after he killed Dee Dee, he carried out one of his sexual fantasies - Gypsy Rose cleaning blood from a wound on his finger and the pair having sex.

He also doesn’t believe that he would have changed the course of time had he been sent back to 2015, adding: "I would’ve done it again. I might have done it differently but I would’ve done it again. I couldn’t see [Gypsy Rose] suffer anymore."
