If you were watching the news in 2015, you may have come across this sensationalised story of a family torn apart by tragedy and deceit.

In this case, it was a mother who had been scamming health care professionals, friends, charities, the public and her family to believe that her daughter was suffering from multiple medical issues which required around the clock care and specialist equipment.

But the horrific truth was uncovered when the mother’s body was found and a frantic search to find her disabled daughter ensued.

Shockingly, as it turns out, Dee Dee Blanchard had been murdered after her daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, had concocted a plan to be free of her, alongside her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, who she met online.

Gypsy Rose was apprehended only days after the killing and doctors deemed her health issues to have been fabricated by her mother.

She later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 10-year sentence in 2016.

However, she was recently granted parole in September of this year and is currently being released today.

But how will the now 32-year-old spend her future as a free woman?

According to TMZ, Gypsy Rose plans to try and meet her hero Taylor Swift for her first big outing at the New Year’s Eve Kansas City Chiefs Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

She has even purchased tickets to the game with hopes of running into the singer, who regularly attends Chiefs games as she is dating Travis Kelce.

But if Gypsy Rose isn’t able to meet her idol, she will buy tickets to the Eras Tour in October 2024 which will be held in New Orleans.

The reason Gypsy wants to see Taylor Swift as soon as she’s released is that the singer helped her to realise the ‘true meaning of girl power.’

Gypsy Rose was convicted of killing her mother in 2016.

But the convicted killer has stayed away from visitors in recent weeks whilst in prison, and a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun in November that she’ll see people whenever she is released from prison.

The source said: "Gypsy doesn't want any more visitors at this point - she just wants to see people when she's free.

"She has a bunch of opportunities out of prison, so she's incredibly excited to be out of there."

They also disclosed that Gypsy Rose is ‘going to be a child abuse advocate’ and wants to ‘go on a book tour after her release.’

They said: "Her parole officer signed off on the post-release plan for her work, but he told her to make sure she doesn't take advantage of it."

A family friend, Titania Gisclair, also shared that Gypsy plans to reach out to the true crime community.

She said: "There are things that are coming once she comes out of prison ... She is going to reach out into the true crime industry and be able to share her story."
