Caleb Flynn has been handed further criminal charges after murdering his wife last month.
The former American Idol contestant claimed he'd discovered the body of Ashley Flynn at their Tipp City, Ohio, home on 16 February.
Caleb, 39, who appeared on the 12th season of the musical reality TV series back in 2013, insisted that a break-in had occurred in the early hours of the morning, during which Ashley, a volleyball coach and mother-of-two, had been murdered.
During a 911 call later obtained by Fox News Digital, he told the dispatcher: "Oh my god, somebody broke into my home, somebody broke into my home and shot my wife. My wife, she's got two shots to her head, there's blood everywhere.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my God."
Caleb was later handed further charges (GoFundMe) He was arrested three days later and handed several charges. According to court documentation obtained by PEOPLE, these were murder, two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of tampering with evidence.
The victim's family shared an emotional statement at the time: "Ashley brought endless light to our world, and we are trying to navigate this immense loss."
They also insisted that Caleb's arrest 'was made carefully and not without serious consideration', adding: "The process is being handled appropriately."
A formal indictment filed in Miami County Common Pleas court earlier this month (18 March) revealed that Caleb was also facing two additional counts of witness intimidation, as well as two additional counts of murder, and one count of aggravated murder.
The original complaint, filed in the immediate aftermath of Ashley's death, did not indicate these charges.
He pleaded not guilty to all 11 charges during an arraignment on Thursday (19 March).
Caleb stood accused in the indictment of making threats against an individual who claimed to have witnessed the crime.
Caleb's two daughters were in the house when Ashley was killed (Miami County Jail) It wasn't immediately obvious, however, whether more than one witness had experienced intimidation on Caleb's part. Details on the identity of these supposed witnesses have not yet been made available.
He and Ashley's two daughters were inside the residence when their mother was killed.
Prosecutors accused Caleb of using a 9mm handgun and staging the crime scene in an attempt to mislead investigators.
During his American Idol audition, Caleb discussed his religion and his personal life.
"I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything," he told the show's resident interviewer. "She is very, very pretty. ... I love her.
"But, you know, I'm just a normal person who absolutely loves to sing more than anything in the world."
