911 callers recall horrifying moment after 23-year-old Ukrainian woman fatally stabbed on train in new update

The 911 calls made by passengers on board the train when a 23-year-old Ukrainian woman was stabbed to death have been revealed in the latest update on the case.

A few months back (22 August), Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death while travelling on the Lynx Blue Line in Charlotte, North Carolina, with video footage showing the moments leading up to and right after the horrifying incident being released to the public early last month (5 September).

She was pronounced dead at the scene, while 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He has a prior criminal history that includes robbery and larceny convictions, having previously been arrested 14 times.

The NY Post has since published several 911 calls made just moments after the heinous attack took place.

"A man just f**king stabbed this woman for no reason," an out-of-breath man said during a three-minute call. "Please hurry, she’s bleeding. She’s bleeding a lot."

As per the outlet, the shellshocked eyewitness described the violent suspect, who is also reportedly a paranoid schizophrenic, as being a black man who had already gotten off the train.

A second caller reported that Zarutska, who came to the US from Ukraine in 2022 to escape the Russia-Ukraine war, was 'not responsive' as bystanders tried to manage the bleeding by applying pressure to her multiple stab wounds.

"This lady just got stabbed. There is a lady on the ground with a lot of blood…we didn’t see it," the woman calmly told the emergency operator, explaining she didn’t witness the fatal attack.

"People are freaking out. There is a lot of blood. I think she’s gone."

Some callers described the 34-year-old alleged killer as wearing blue jeans, a red hoodie, and having dreadlocks.

Others emotionally reported that Zarutska was likely already dead.

"Some girl got stabbed on the train. I think she’s dead, man," a man stressed to the dispatcher. "I think the girl might be dead, man…the guy who did it is standing over here on the ramp."

Last month (7 September), US President Donald Trump was asked about the horrific ordeal where he said he hadn't heard about it, adding that it was 'horrible' and that he would 'know all about it by tomorrow morning'.

Taking to Truth Social the following day (8 September), the 79-year-old Republican penned: "I have seen the horrific video of a beautiful, young Ukrainian refugee, who came to America to escape the vicious War in Ukraine, and was innocently riding the Metro in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was brutally ambushed by a mentally deranged lunatic."

He continued: "The perpetrator was a well known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES. What the hell was he doing riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP.

"The blood of this innocent woman can literally be seen dripping from the killer’s knife, and now her blood is on the hands of the Democrats who refuse to put bad people in jail, including Former Disgraced Governor and 'Wannabe Senator' Roy Cooper."

Trump concluded the shocking post, declaring: "North Carolina, and every State, needs LAW AND ORDER, and only Republicans will deliver it! Additionally, where is the outrage from the Mainstream Media on this horrible tragedy?

"VOTE FOR MICHAEL WHATLEY FOR UNITED STATES SENATE, HE WON’T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN!"

Many then took to social media to slam Trump for turning the heartbreaking tragedy into something he could use for political gain.
