A 24-year-old woman who set her friend on fire after dousing him in gasoline, following an alleged misogynistic comment towards her, has been sentenced to prison.
Corbie Jean Walpole was between 23 and 35 alcoholic drinks deep when she decided to set alight her friend of nine years.
It's also believed that the attacker was under the influence of cocaine, as she poured gasoline over Jake Loader, who was 23 at the time his injuries were sustained.

According to Australia Broadcasting Corporation, the two had been drinking in Walpole's backyard when Loader allegedly made a misogynistic comment towards his friend.
Walpole states that her friend told her to 'get back in the kitchen and not to drink with the boys', and it's believed that they had been consuming alcohol for 12 hours at this point.
The attacker also claimed that Loader was being antagonistic, trying to wrestle her and disturbing her boyfriend who was sleeping.

She then doused Loader in gasoline, and held a lighter up to threaten it.
According to the court, the victim said: "Go on, do it."
She then set him alight, which led to third-degree burns over 55% of his body.

The 23-year-old was then put into an induced coma for eight days - and underwent 10 surgeries during his recovery.
As she stood on watching the incident unfold, she reportedly said: "What the f*** have I done?"
She also allegedly noted: "He told me to do it."

It was friends that ultimately heard Loader screaming, and attempted to put out the flames with a dog bed, before eventually throwing him into a pool.
In court, Walpole pleaded guilty to one charge of burning or maiming by using corrosive fluid, and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
The judge described the incident as 'unprovoked' and 'particularly violent', and an attack that was fuelled by drugs and extreme alcohol consumption.
Judge Jennifer English said: "This is a tragic case, in so many ways, for the victim and his family and the offender and her family: two young lives destroyed."

But it seems that Walpole appeared remorseful for her actions, that could have been life-ending.
She told the judge that she had now given up consuming alcohol, as well as using drugs.
Following her sentencing, she will be eligible for parole in November 2029.
