Barack Obama debuted a huge change in his appearance as he shared a rare family photo celebrating his daughter Sasha’s 24th birthday on Tuesday (10 June).
The former United States president, 63, was all smiles as he posed alongside his wife Michelle, 61, Sasha, and his other daughter Malia, 26.
He sweetly wrote in the caption: “Happy birthday, Sasha! Watching you grow into the incredible woman you are has been a true gift.”

Addressing his youngest daughter directly, Obama added: “I’ll always be proud of you and will always be here for you.”
But, eagle-eyed social media users will have noticed there’s one big difference in the father-of-two's appearance.

He made sure to show off his new look in the family picture, after fully leaning into the grey look.
Fans complimented the former president and his family in the comments, with one social media user writing: “What a beautiful family.”
Another added: “A most beautiful family photo!!!! Can’t tell you how much I miss you Mr. President.”
Meanwhile, a third commented: “Happy Birthday Sasha, you belong to the most amazing family and wish you all were back in the White House.”

Obama’s new look comes just after his eldest daughter Malia revealed her new name change and the reasoning behind it.
The 26-year-old has her heart set on Hollywood and is keen to pave her own path in the world, despite having two of the most famous people on the planet as her parents.

Last year, a film she both wrote and directed, called The Heart, premiered at none other than Sundance Film Festival.

But for her name in the credits, she opted to simply go by her first and middle name - Malia Ann - ditching her very famous surname.
Appearing on Kate and Oliver Hudson’s podcast Sibling Revelry on 4 June, mum Michelle delved into what made her daughter come to that decision.
She said: “Our daughters are 25 and 23. They are young adult women, but they definitely went through a period in their teen years where it was the push away. … They're still doing that.
“It is very important for my kids to feel like they've earned what they are getting in the world, and they don't want people to assume that they don't work hard, that they're just naturally, just handed things.”

The former First Lady added: “She took off her last name, and we were like, they're still going to know it's you, Malia. But we respected the fact that she's trying to make her way.”

And Barack was of course, just as supportive as his wife.
Speaking on The Pivot Podcast, seven months ago, he said: “I was all like, 'You do know they'll know who you are'.
“And she's all like, 'You know what? I want them to watch [my film] that first time and not in any way have that association'.”
He concluded: “So I think our daughters go out of their way to not try to leverage that.”
