Alec Baldwin issues health update after being involed in car crash with brother Stephen

Alec Baldwin has issued an update after he was involved in a car crash with his brother, Stephen Baldwin.

On Monday afternoon (13 October), Alec and Stephen - who is the father of Hailey Bieber - were involved in an accident in the Hamptons which saw the Range Rover they were travelling in collide with a tree.

It is believed that Baldwin was in the Hamptons for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which began on 5 October.

Baldwin is a co-chair on the Board Executive Committee, according to the festival's website.

The accident occurred in the midst of a nor'easter, which is a storm along the east coast of North America.

The storms can occur at any time of year, but mostly between September and April.

Alec was driving the vehicle at the time, according to Page Six, meanwhile both brothers were later seen chatting with police at the scene.

It is believed that both left the vehicle without any major injuries.

Alec later shared a video on Instagram, explaining what had happened in the incident and updating fans on his health.

In a video shared on Instagram after the accident, Alec said: "I’m fine, my brother Stephen was visiting me."

Alec explained that he had been driving when he was 'cut off' by a large truck, saying that in order to avoid the vehicle, he had no choice but to collide with the tree.

"... A guy cut me off in a truck. A big garbage truck the size of a whale. It must have been something commercial, taking a way material from a construction site. It was the biggest garbage truck I’ve ever seen," he said.

Alec explained that to avoid hitting the truck, he swerved and 'hit a big fat tree'.

"I crushed my wife's car," he said. "I'm fine, my brother's fine."

He then added: "I’m going to LA to see my family, can’t wait. Going to California to gather my family out there for a few days. I’m still so proud of my wife. Hilaria, I love you more than anything. I’m fine."

Hilaria and Alec have been married for 13 years and share eight children together.

Following the crash, Hilaria shared her own video online, explaining: "I just want you to know he's okay, Stephen is okay, no one is hurt and that's the most important thing... thank you for caring."

Hilaria recently hit back at social media users who questioned why she wasn't wearing her wedding ring in a post.

Cuddling a Beetlejuice teddy, Hilaria, who has recently been taking part in Dancing with the Stars, said: “Don’t worry Cammy, got my Alec stand in here while he is gone working.

“And [my] ring is right here. Tho I don’t wear to practice because it hurts with the crazy stuff we are doing."
