How to get 65 days off work in 2025 with your annual leave

Here's the foolproof way to make the most of your annual leave

While we're still knee deep in the festive season, it's easy to get bored of the early sunsets and cold weather, while dreaming of sunnier climes and exciting holidays.

One of the worst things about these daydreams is that we have to accept that the ability to fulfil them is limited by company-wide policies.

While we all like to imagine taking endless months off work to lie on a beach and think about the meaning of life, it's not that simple.

However, it has been revealed how to maximise your time off and spend a whopping 65 days off work.

Suffice to say, we could all use it.

Here's how....

How to get 16 days off over Easter

The Independent advises that by booking off four days across 14–17 April, followed by another four over 22–25, the number will be doubled, resulting in 16 consecutive days off.

Ultimately, spending these days off as well as the bank holidays, which fall on Good Friday (18 April) and Easter Monday (21 April), means you'll have plenty of time to spend relaxing.

How to get 18 days off in May

By booking off four days between 6 and 9 May, you'll be able to grant yourself nine days of holiday, which is made possible by combining these days off with two weekends and the 5 May Early May bank holiday on 5 May.

Alternatively, you can extend your time off by booking off a further four days between 27–30 May which grants you a delightful nine days off, by including the spring bank holiday on 26 May.

How to get 9 summer days in August

If you book off four days between 26 and 29 August, you'll have a further nine days away from the office by enjoying your time off with the summer bank holiday on 25 August as well as two weekends.

How to double your Christmas

It's light work getting 13 days off for the small price of just six days of annual leave during the festive period - with three bank holidays to enjoy before 2025 kicks in.

If you're savvy enough, book off 22 to 24 December followed by 29 to 31 December, you'll end up with almost two weeks off work.

This will then be joined by Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and of course a few weekends.
