If you have an unusual name, or one that can be tricky to pronounce, ordering a coffee can be pretty awkward.

Sometimes it's just easier to use a fake name, right?

Well one woman on TikTok knows all too well how it feels. Starr Anyse has had her fair share of awkward coffee name blunders, and took to the video platform to share the reality.

Despite Starr being pretty straightforward to pronounce, she explains how it is often mistaken for Scar, Skye, Sarah or even Moon - although we think that last one could be a joke.

"What it's like ordering a coffee when you have a weird name," Starr captioned the clip.

And others could totally relate, with hundreds flooding to the comments section to share similar stories of name embarrassment.

One person wrote: "I have two wildly bland decoy names for this exact reason," while another said: "That’s why I always say Tim!"

And a third added: "I go by Jess and you'd be surprised how many people mishear it for Jeff or Steph??"

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "My name is Sarhys when they ask I just say Rhys… so much easier."

"Gotten to the point where I use my last name, it’s easier," added a fifth.

Starr explained the reality of having an unusual name.

In other TikTok news, we recently told you how people are just finding out that Tefal pans have a genius built-in feature.

New York based creator Nathalie tested out the little-known cooking feature for her followers, and couldn't believe it when the pan transformed right before her eyes.

When she pulled out her Tefal pan and put it over the heat of the stove, the little red circle in the middle eventually turned bright red.

According to Tefal, this feature - known as a Thermo-spot - was built in to act as a heat indicator to let you know when your pan is fully pre-heated.

You can watch the genius feature in action below:

Explaining the Thermo-spot on their website, the company explains: "Right inside your pan, you have an indicator that turns red once the ideal cooking temperature is reached.

"Before heating, the Thermo-Spot pattern is clearly visible. As the pan heats up, the colour begins to change.

"Once it reaches the ideal temperature, the Thermo-Spot pattern turns solid red ensuring you a uniform and ideal temperature to cook all your meals.

"Thermo-Spot is available on most Tefal pans, sauté pans and electric appliances."

TikTok is teaching us so much!
