People Are Only Just Finding This Handy Tefal Pan Feature

Did you know about this?

The people of TikTok have had their minds blown after learning that Tefal pans have a genius built-in feature.

New York based creator Nathalie tested out the little-known cooking feature for her followers, and couldn't believe it when the pan transformed right before her eyes.

Watch here:

After seeing another TikTok video that unveiled the trick, Nathalie admitted that she had to get out of bed at 1:30 in the morning to try it out for herself.

And sure enough, when she pulled out her Tefal pan and put it over the heat of the stove, the little red circle in the middle eventually turned bright red.

According to Tefal, this feature - known as a Thermo-spot - was built in to act as a heat indicator to let you know when your pan is fully pre-heated.

So, it would turn out that you're actually not supposed to throw food and oil straight onto the pan and hope for the best...

How did we not know this?!

Explaining the Thermo-spot on their website, the company explains: "Right inside your pan, you have an indicator that turns red once the ideal cooking temperature is reached.

"Before heating, the Thermo-Spot pattern is clearly visible. As the pan heats up, the colour begins to change.

"Once it reaches the ideal temperature, the Thermo-Spot pattern turns solid red ensuring you a uniform and ideal temperature to cook all your meals.

"Thermo-Spot is available on most Tefal pans, sauté pans and electric appliances."

You learn something new every day!

While Nathalie was shook when she learned about the Tefal Thermo-Spot, some of her viewers were left unimpressed, pointing out that it had always been a heavily advertised feature.

"Thats literally the entire selling point of those pans...", commented one bemused viewer.

"So no one’s ever seen a Tefal advertisement then", another remarked.

"I just thought this was common knowledge as Tefal advertised it in every commercial", pointed out a third.

But others were just as mind-blown as Nathalie, despite having a collection of Tefal products in their own kitchen cupboards!

One gobsmacked TikToker confessed: "I literally have four of these pans and never knew that".

Another admitted: "I just picked out the cheapest set of non stick pans I found tbf, I didn’t know either."

And a third added: "I didn't know it either, thank you for the tip!"
