Woman admits surrogate baby is her late son’s

The mother has revealed why she carried her son's baby

One woman has admitted that her surrogate baby is her late son’s child.

The mother, Ana Obregón, revealed the truth behind the little tot she recently welcomed to the world with the help of a surrogate.

After making a huge promise to her son, Aless Lequio, the 68-year-old made a decision that would go on to change the entire rest of her life.

Speaking in an interview with Hola!, the Spanish actor revealed her true familial connection to the newborn.

Ana confirmed that the baby is the daughter of Aless who tragically died at the age of 27 from cancer back in May 2020.

The woman explained: "This baby girl is not my daughter, but my granddaughter.

"She is Aless’ daughter and when she grows up I will tell her that her father was a hero so that she knows who she is and how proud she should be of him."

Ana added that the journey of conceiving her son's baby began 'the day my child went to heaven'.

According to the woman, Aless had one final thing to tick off his bucket list before he died - to become a father.

"What people don’t know is that this was Aless’ last wish: to bring a child into the world," she said.

Ana added that her son told her and his father, Alessandro Lequio, just 'a week before he died'.

Ana went on to say just how much raising the newborn has helped her through the grief of losing her young son.

She said: "The only thing that has allowed me to continue living every day, every second, is to fulfil the mission of bringing Aless’ daughter into the world."

"I’m happy!" the woman continued, "surrounded by diapers, bottles, all pink, full of bows and smelling like perfume, how wonderful!"

She recalled that Aless 'loved babies and would go crazy every time he saw one', remembering how he used to say: "I am going to call my first daughter Ana, like you, mommy."

Ana revealed that she's open to potentially having more granchildren via surrogacy in the future.

"My son wanted five kids," she added, "maybe one day we will have a boy."

She went on to explain a little more about her decision and why she feels so committed to making Aless' 'final wish' come true.

"I failed my son and I could not save him, but this, which I swore to him with my life, I have done and no one can take that away from me," Ana explained.

While acknowledging that some people may find the situation unusual, Ana said: "I don’t think there is anyone in the world, when they see this beautiful girl - who was so desired by her father from heaven and by me on earth and by all those who love me - will not think the same way.

"It is something that only fathers or mothers who have lost a child will perfectly understand."

Ana has since taken to Instagram yesterday (5 April) to share a heartwarming tribute to her late son.

Uploading a photo of her and the little one, the mum captioned the post: "I swore I would save you from cancer and I failed you.

"I promised you I'd bring your daughter into the world and here she is in my arms."

She continued: "When I hug you I feel an indescribable emotion, because it's like I'm hugging you again. I swear I will take care of her with the infinite love I have to give and you will help me from heaven."

Ana concluded the emotional tribute writing: "You are the love of my life in heaven and your daughter is the love of my live on earth.

"I love you to death, Mom."
