A woman had her 44GG-sized breasts reduced after suffering years of extreme pain and depression. Take a look at her journey below:

Christina Schembri, 25, who works as a carer for the elderly in Melbourne, Australia, was living in daily pain due to her extremely large chest, which left her unable to perform simple tasks such as cleaning her house.

"Women who have smaller breasts don’t understand why, but you’ll never know until you have the size I did, how they get in the way of literally everything,” she said.

"I couldn’t do simple chores like vacuuming or mopping, as my back would start to ache, and I had to sit down and stretch my back.

"I could only work short hours due to the pain and needed to see an osteopath every few weeks.

"They made me feel bigger than I was and felt very unattractive, and constantly drained physically and emotionally. I feel like my breasts were hiding my true self underneath it all."

She also suffered severe back problems, which led to her needing a scoliosis x-ray, as well as feeling depressed.

On top of the excruciating pain she dealt with on a daily basis, Christina also had to deal with constant unwanted comments from men which left her feeling frustrated and she struggled to find clothes that fit.

"When I see men's comments I get frustrated, as they have no idea and will never know what it’s like to carry weight on your chest 24/7."

Eventually, Christina decided ‘enough is enough’ and underwent a reduction surgery in June 2021. Doctors removed 10.5lbs (4.8kg) of fat to reduce her cup size to 38C.

"Some men have messaged me [since the reduction] and said I shouldn’t have had the surgery," she said about her life following the procedure.

"To have people give you looks every day made me feel gross and uncomfortable in my own body, and when people stared I got more and more insecure.

"Before surgery, even with normal clothing, I would get a lot of weird looks, especially from men which were really frustrating and would make me upset.

"They also made me look bigger than I actually was and would hide my waist. I got the surgery done for my own comfort and to feel happy with my body image."

Although she had to pay around £8,500 ($15,000 AU) for the surgery, Christina says it is the ‘best thing’ she has ever done. She recently shared her transformation on TikTok, where one video has had more than 400,000 views and 17,000 likes.

Christina added: "I feel a big weight lifted off my shoulders, literally. "I feel light and free and can now wear whatever I like without looking or feeling silly.

"I think it is the best money I have ever spent and it’s such an investment in my mental and physical health."
