People Are Divided Over Wedding Guest's Choice Of Shoes

The woman paired a lace dress with biker style boots.

People are divided over a wedding guest's choice of shoes after a photo was shared on Reddit.

Originally posted because the woman - who is the bride's step mum - is wearing a white lace dress, Redditors were more concerned with her choice of biker style shoes.

One person wrote: "So, not only a white dress, but what look like black Uggs. And the groom's wearing brown shoes with black pants. Quite the fashion duo."

While another said: "Honestly this was like my sister (bridesmaid) wanting to wear her doc martens with her elegant designer dress. Her reasoning in the end was that as the wedding was in a garden doc martens would be more appropriate than block heels/flats."

Others defended the woman's shoe choice, however, with one writing: "I wore my New Rocks with my wedding dress. You do you. This is a wierd thing to get hoity about."

While another said: "I have a pair of velvet Doc Martens. I wear them with dresses to fairly formal events."

In other wedding news, earlier this week we told you how Redditors were shocked when an extensive list of rules for wedding guests was posted online.

The bride and groom's first rule urges guests to refrain from asking about the wedding because “planning is stressful enough as it is”.

The couple then emphasise that the wedding “is not a class or family reunion” and will be semi-formal.

Meanwhile, one rule informed guests that they had to dance, and could not 'sit down and spectate'.

Rule nine states: “If you are trying to attend to spectate and sit down all night this is not the event to do so.”

The couple warn that there will be an open bar and if guests cannot handle their liquor or cause a ruckus they “will be removed promptly!”
